Sunday horse racing tips

Coffs Harbour

Race 1. (12:45) Coffs Asphalt Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Olakau’atu @ $2.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The two-year-old gelding hasn’t faced easy fields so far and the son of Sebring should find this more to his liking.

He finished seventh on debut at Coffs Harbour before running in open company at Grafton and finishing sixth.

That run is good enough to see him put this field away at much shorter odds.

Race 2. (13:25) Inspired Audio Visual C1 Handicap (1000m)

#9 – Three Penny Opera @ $2.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Looking for consecutive wins is Three Penny Opera, who scored emphatically by five lengths last time out.

The three-year-old filly by Outreach didn’t show much during her first three runs but we’re sticking with her after her latest.

Getting the inside draw with a light weight helps.

Race 4. (14:45) Grant Bastian Memorial C3 Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Field Regiment @ $2.40 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Field Regiment has been a bit inconsistent this season but the four-year-old gelding has two wins this preparation so he demands attention.

The son of All Too Hard won at Gold Coast two starts back and he returned to form when placing at Grafton in heavy conditions last start.

He’s smart on his day and getting 2kg off his back is ideal.

Race 6. (16:05) Sawtell RSL Cup (1500m)

#4 – Tara Jasmine @ $2.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Tara Jasmine was a good thing beaten last start at Grafton last start so we’re sticking with the four-year-old mare.

The daughter of Cowboy Blue flashed home for third after getting no luck in the straight and getting 3kg off her back is ideal.

We’re expecting a bounce back performance in the feature race.

Sale

Race 1. (11:50) B’day Celeb for D Price Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Exonumia – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Exonumia hails from the James Cummings stable and the two-year-old is getting close to breaking through.

The son of Frosted ran last at Flemington on debut before placing at Sale and Cranbourne. He handles all track conditions, so that’s another bonus.

Barrier four is ideal and he should be going close against this level of opposition.

Race 2. (12:25) Carlton Draught Maiden (1200m)

#8 – Signal – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Signal is getting close to winning after finishing second at Pakenham last time out.

The Matt Laurie-trained three-year-old has finished fourth or better in every run to date and that’s a handy record.

Barrier 12 is a worry but he goes close with any amount of luck.

Race 4. (13:45) Bruce Carter Fencing Maiden (1717m)

#3 – King of Swing – Bet @ Ladbrokes

King of Swing owns four placings from four starts and it’s only a matter of time before he wins a race.

The four-year-old son of Bullet Train comes off a third placing at Ballarat and he hit the line with purpose, which is a good sign.

We expect bookmakers to have each-way odds available.

Race 6. (15:05) Become a Member of Sale BM64 (1600m)

#7 – La Marsa – Bet @ Ladbrokes

La Marsa is long overdue a winning performance after scoring just once in 13 starts but we’re keeping the faith.

The four-year-old daughter of Dundeel had her chance at Cranbourne last start but she showed enough to warrant attention.

Punters will get value odds and she’s worth one more chance.
