Sunday horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:05) Ladbrokes BM120 Hurdle (3400m)

#2 – Michelin @ $2.10 – Bet Now

Michelin couldn’t have been more impressive when winning at Sale last time out. He won by four lengths and he cruised up to them on the turn.

It came over a good field and he’s not going to find this any harder. We’re not surprised to see money come for him throughout the week.

Punters should take the $2.10 as he could start odds-on.

Race 2. (12:45) Ladbrokes Australian Hurdle (3900m)

#4 – Woodsman @ $5 – Bet Now

The Kiwi runner is going to love the conditions here and he was primed with a flat run last time out.

He scored a big win at Warrnambool in March and although he ran last in the Warrnambool Hurdle, he pulled up lame.

He has been respected in betting and that’s a good sign.

Race 3. (13:25) Ladbrokes Australian Steeple (3900m)

#3 – Slowpoke Rodriguez @ $2.50 – Bet Now

Slowpoke Rodriguez has been set for this race this campaign and it’s about time he showed his best.

The Kiwi nine-year-old finished fourth at Warrnambool last time out and he was making good ground near the line.

He opened at $2.50 and he has remained steady, so that’s a good sign for this race.

Race 4. (14:05) Samson Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Aidensfield @ $2.30 – Bet Now

The Lindsay Park-trained filly made a good impression when winning on debut. She scored by 1.3 lengths at Caulfield and that should hold her in good stead.

She’s a daughter of Dissident that has bigger targets in sight and with all things considered, she should handle this grade.

Race 7. (15:45) Ladbrokes Cash In BM70 (1200m)

#9 – Galenus @ $2.40 – Bet Now

Galenus is a former Tasmanian which made a good impression when scoring at Cranbourne last start.

Now with Patrick Payne, the three-year-old could win his fourth race from five starts. He has been a model of consistency since making his debut and he gets conditions to suit here.

It’s not surprising to see the money come his way and he should be right around the mark.

Race 8. (16:15) Ladbrokes Odds Boost BM78 (1400m)

#8 – Simply Optimistic @ $7 – Bet Now

Not everything has gone the way of Simply Optimistic this season but he’s a nice type. He showed his class when winning at Randwick last season and that form stacks up well.

His luck since has been poor but he’s good enough to give another chance here.

Race 1. (12:00) Dmax Spirit of Truck Maiden (1100m)

#1 – Blaze a Trail @ $1.45 – Bet Now

Punters will need to take the short odds but Blaze a Trail should be winning this race. He has run behind the likes of Dame Giselle and Golden Slipper winner Farnan.

That form is brilliant for this race and he has been primed with a trial win at Hawkesbury. $1.45 is short but it’s worth putting him in multi bets.

Race 3. (13:20) Dmax Build From History C2 (1200m)

#4 – Missile Heat @ $3.90 – Bet Now

Missile Heat was an impressive winner on debut and that win came on this track. The three-year-old won by a length and although he didn’t back it up, he could return to winning form.

His most recent start came at Kembla Grange where not much went right for him. However, there’s less depth to this field and that bodes well.

The $3.90 is a fair price from bookmakers.

Race 6. (15:10) Dmax Depend On It Handicap (1600m)

#8 – Benfica Maid @ $3.50 – Bet Now

Benfica Maid is getting close to posting another win after three consecutive placings. The four-year-old mare scored her maiden win in February and looks likely to win again.

Her starts since have mostly come against tough opposition and she should find this slightly easier than recent assignments.

55.5kg on her back and that bodes well.

Race 7. (15:50) Country Motor Nowra Cup (1600m)

#5 – Regal Stage @ $3.90 – Bet Now

Regal Stage is currently equal favourite for the Cup and we thought he would be shorter in the market.

The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding is coming off a tidy placing at Warwick Farm and he should get every chance from the barrier.

Watch for his odds to shorten.
