Sunday horse racing tips

Kilmore

Race 1. (13:30) MC Security Maiden Plate (1100m)

#10 – Iron Dragon – Bet @ Sportsbet

Iron Dragon hasn’t been too far away in two career starts, including a fourth at Geelong last time out.

The Matt Laurie-trained three-year-old was only 3.7 lengths behind the winner in May, and the break could have done him some good.

The progeny of Holler should start to show up, so include.

Race 3. (14:30) MC Traffic Maiden Plate (1450m)

#10 – Danceathon – Bet @ Sportsbet

Chris Waller lines up the three-year-old filly by Fastnet Rock, who is bred to be better than average.

She hasn’t had any public trials, but the addition of Damien Thornton in the saddle is a good betting guide.

55kg on her back suits, so watch the betting for moves.

Race 4. (15:15) Bet365 Racing Refunds BM64 (1450m)

#12 – Polina – Bet @ Sportsbet

Polina is only a one-win mare, but she finished off nicely to run second at Horsham last time out.

The daughter of Darci Brahma has figured in the finish in seven of her nine starts, so she has shown excellent consistency to date.

The inside draw is ideal, so put her on top.

Race 6. (16:35) Bet365 Odds Drift Protect BM58 (1200m)

#4 – Mischievous Lad – Bet @ Sportsbet

The six-year-old owns two wins from 31 starts, but he has been close to winning twice this season.

He is a son of Bel Esprit, who ran well when second at Bairnsdale last start. We expect that form to stack up nicely, and it was a decent field.

Barrier 12 is the only worry.

Race 7. (17:10) MC Labour BM64 (1600m)

#1 – Firstclass Dreamer – Bet @ Sportsbet

The six-year-old is knocking on the door after three placings from his last four starts, so we’re backing him here.

He finished second at Sale last start, which was his ninth second placing. He knows how to go close, but he also owns six wins.

Carrying a big weight won’t worry him.

Nowra

Race 1. (13:35) Eddie Latta Memorial C1 Handicap (1200m)

#2 – Miss Barty’s Party @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old mare comes off a second placing at Nowra, which bodes well for this contest.

She owns one win and two placings from five starts, so she has made a good start to her career. Running only a half-length behind Esteemed Lady is a solid effort going forward.

Her odds have shortened since opening at $3, which is a good sign.

Race 2. (14:10) Pink Up Berry Maiden (1200m)

#5 – Grand Palazzo @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Grand Palazzo hasn’t won for 11 starts, but she went well at Moruya last start. That should be a good form guide at maiden level, and we’re surprised she’s not favourite.

The daughter of All Too Hard has finished second on three occasions, and with two runs under her belt this season, she looks ready to fire.

$3.80 is well worth taking in an even race.

Race 4. (15:20) Lighthouse Plumbing Maiden (1400m)

#11 – Sempreinte – Bet @ Sportsbet

The three-year-old finished second fresh up at Newcastle before running third behind some nice maiden types last start.

The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding will likely push forward from the draw and try run them into the ground.

Barrier 10 shouldn’t be an issue, so put him on top.

Race 6. (16:40) Mollymook Cup BM66 (1200m)

#7 – So You Shop – Bet @ Sportsbet

So You Shop hasn’t shown his best form this season, but we’re prepared to give him another chance.

The son of So You Think is a three-time winner overall, including a win and two placings over this distance.

Improved track conditions would be ideal, but he has handled wet ground in the past.
