Sunday horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:40) Ladbrokes Punter Assist Maiden (1100m)
#3 – Out of Isolation @ $2.35 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Greg Eurell-trained four-year-old finished second on debut at Caulfield, which should be an excellent form guide.
He finished 1.3 lengths behind Aidensfield, and although that run came over a year ago, he should be ready to fire here.
Barrier two is ideal, so take the odds available.
Race 3. (13:50) Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Maiden (1400m)
#6 – Little Faifo @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Little Faifo is looking to cap off three consecutive placings with a win on Sunday. She looked good at Benalla last start and narrowly going down.
The daughter of Good Journey deserves a win, and with three placings from six starts, she won’t find an easier chance to break through.
Punters should expect her odds to firm.
Race 5. (15:00) Ladbrokes It BM70 (1200m)
#13 – La Zucca @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
La Zucca capped off two placings with a win at Geelong last start, which should be a good form guide.
She scored by a narrow margin, but the form behind her has stacked up nicely. Carrying 54kg is ideal, and only the draw is against her.
$5 is a fair price, so lock it in.
Race 7. (16:15) Ladbrokes Sale Cup (1600m)
#7 – Embolism @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Embolism doesn’t win all that often, but the four-year-old gelding comes off a run in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap.
The son of Shamus Award was only 2.5 lengths behind I’m Thunderstruck, which is excellent form for the Sale Cup.
Carrying 54kg should see him tough to beat.
Race 1. (13:10) Imperial Hotel Maiden (900m)
#8 – The Big Seal @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Big Seal is looking to cap off consecutive second placings with a win. He finished 2.5 lengths behind Akaka Falls last start, which should be a good form guide.
He is a son of Your Song, who ran second as a $1.70 favourite on debut, so there has been confidence in the betting.
Punters get better odds here, so include.
Race 3. (14:20) Pursehouse Rural C2 Plate (1200m)
#14 – Satin Ruby @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Satin Ruby hasn’t been showing her best form this season, but the talent is there.
The five-year-old comes off a trial win at Tamworth in heavy conditions, so that is a good sign going forward.
Drawing barrier two is ideal and punters have smashed her in betting markets.
Race 5. (15:35) Carolais Baradine Cup BM66 (1400m)
#4 – On a Promise @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Brett Robb-trained six-year-old is a nine-time winner from 34 starts, and he has yet to run worse than third in two starts at the track.
He is a four-time winner at the distance, and he’s shooting for his fifth consecutive win, which is tough to overlook.
He has stayed steady in betting markets at each-way odds.
Race 6. (16:10) Coonabarabran Bakery Cup Day (1100m)
#3 – Classy Rebel @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Classy Rebel is a professional 11-time winner from 42 starts, including three at this distance.
The seven-year-old handles all tracks, and we’re not surprised by the money coming for him throughout the week. He opened at $3.50 and has been backed into $2.70, which is a solid move.
We’re happy to take him at his current odds.
