Big betting fields are the order of the day in Queensland and we have our best value bets.
Sunshine Coast horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:38) Tab BM68 (1300m)
#5 – Not Another – Bet @ Sportsbet
Not Another scored back-to-back second placings before breaking through at Sunshine Coast last time out.
The Stuart Kendrick-trained filly by Headwater scored by a half-length as a $1.95 favourite, so the betting support should be there again.
Carrying 54kg is ideal and we’re expecting another top effort.
Race 2. (14:13) Sky Racing C1 Handicap (1000m)
#4 – All Stashed Up – Bet @ Sportsbet
All Stashed Up did the job on debut at Ipswich when scoring over 800m and she looks likely to handle the rise in distance.
The four-year-old mare won by 1.3 lengths and dropping to 53kg for this run should see her right in the thick of the finish.
Punters could get each-way odds on race day.
Race 3. (14:48) Martin Collins Australia C5 (1200m)
#2 – Dusty Tycoon – Bet @ Sportsbet
Dusty Tycoon has shown plenty of pace throughout her career and she meets an easier field here.
The four-year-old mare owns four wins and four placings from 16 starts, so there is no reason why she can’t win.
Finishing three lengths behind Garibaldi is a good form guide, so put her on top.
Race 4. (15:23) Wimmers Soft Drinks Maiden (1200m)
#6 – Island Magic – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tony Gollan lines up the three-year-old filly who finished second on debut behind Miss Clicquot.
The daughter of Hinchinbrook followed a trial win at Eagle Farm with a solid debut effort, so she can handle this level of racing.
Barrier 11 is the biggest concern, but she goes clearly on top.
Race 5. (15:58) Butler McDermott Lawyers Maiden (1200m)
#3 – Majestic Colour – Bet @ Sportsbet
The three-year-old gelding didn’t handle the heavy track on debut but still managed to run second.
He should appreciate the improved conditions on Wednesday and with that run under his belt, he should be harder to beat.
Barrier two is ideal and having a senior rider in the saddle helps.
Race 6. (16:33) Access Insulation BM70 (1800m)
#1 – Octavian – Bet @ Sportsbet
Octavian didn’t show much before winning at Rockhampton last start and he is good enough to win again.
The five-year-old owns seven wins from 35 starts and it was good to see his confidence levels return earlier this month.
Getting a 2kg claimer in the saddle could be enough to see him winning.
Race 7. (17:05) Liebke Builders C4 Handicap (1000m)
#3 – Global Citizen – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Edmonds-trained son of I Am Invincible already owns four wins from seven starts, so we like his chances of success on Wednesday.
He comes off a win at Gold Coast by 1.5 lengths, which is an impressive performance over 900m. He won’t mind the rise in distance having won over 1100m at Ipswich.
Expect him to jump well and be tough to run down in the straight.
Race 8. (17:35) Parklands Tavern C2 Handicap (1400m)
#12 – Valley of Dreams – Bet @ Sportsbet
Valley of Dreams didn’t fire at Gold Coast last time out but she’s good enough to turn the tables.
The five-year-old mare showed much better pace when running second on this track two back. She always shows her best form here, so punters should take that into consideration.
Getting the inside draw is ideal and with two wins on a good track, she has our support at odds.
