Sunshine Coast horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:53) Hahn Super Dry Maiden (1000m)

#6 – Nailed It Nan @ $3.90 – Bet Now

Kelly Schweida lines up the three-year-old filly which has placed in all three trials leading into this race.

The daughter of Real Saga has run some good trials behind quality types and she could make a winning debut here.

Jake Bayliss takes the ride with 55.5kg on the back and punters are getting odds worth taking.

Race 2. (13:28) Summer Bright Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Tarzan @ $2.45 – Bet Now

Tarzan will have to carry a big weight but he’s the class runner in this field and deserves to be favourite.

The seven-year-old is a 15-time winner from 37 starts and he also has nine placings. That record is tough to overlook here and although beaten last start, he didn’t lose any admirers.

He gets the inside draw and that will see him settle handy in the small field and we’re expecting another win.

Race 3. (14:03) Iron Jack C1 Plate (2200m)

#4 – Alam Mo Na @ $2.60 – Bet Now

Kris Lees lines up the four-year-old mare which is capable of winning this race and has been backed accordingly.

The daughter of High Chaparral just got a little tired at the end of her run last start at Doomben after going wide throughout.

She should get a better trip in transit here and she’s taking on an easier field.

Punters have come for her in the early markets and that’s a good sign.

Race 4. (14:42) XXXX Gold Handicap (1600m)

#8 – Too Hot to Hold @ $4.60 – Bet Now

That was a good win from Too Hot to Hold on this track last start and she could easily go back-to-back in this.

The four-year-old by Sizzling scored by a narrow margin last month and she has been primed with a trial performance since.

She is going to get every chance from barrier two and Boris Thornton takes the ride at only 55.5kg.

Race 5. (15:22) The Gorgeous C5 Handicap (1800m)

#8 – Elleofadeel @ $3.60 – Bet Now

Chris Waller lines up the four-year-old mare that has already won twice this campaign and could add another.

The daughter of Dundeel won at Gold Coast to break maiden grades in November before scoring by two lengths last start.

She has the confidence up now and with only 54kg on her back, she could win another race this preparation.

Race 6. (16:02) James Squire Fifty Lashes (1200m)

#1 – Kalik @ $3.10 – Bet Now

Kalik has winning form on the board this campaign after scoring consecutive wins to open his account.

The three-year-old won at Sunshine Coast by 3.5 lengths fresh up and backed that up with another win here by a long neck.

He stepped up in grade when running fifth at Doomben last start but he’s experienced on this track and that’s going to help.

Robbie Fradd takes the ride and he only needs luck from the draw to win again.

Race 7. (16:38) Furphy C2 Handicap (1000m)

#6 – Dolly Spartan @ $6 – Bet Now

Dolly Spartan is a consistent mare that has finished in the money in eight of nine starts.

She scored a win on this track fresh up by 1.5 lengths and she showed a nice turn-of-foot on that occasion.

Her two placings since have been solid and punters are getting a terrific each-way price.

$6 for a quality type is surprising from bookmakers.

Race 8. (17:17) Hahn Super Dry BM75 (1300m)

#1 – Doctor Zous @ $3 – Bet Now

Doctor Zous did the job nicely on this track last start when scoring by a half-length.

The Darryl Hansen-trained son of Zoustar has won four of his nine career starts and looks to have gone to another level now.

He will need luck from an outside barrier but we’re confident that he’s good enough to cross the field and kick clear.
