Sunshine Coast horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:23) Tattersalls Arcade C3 Plate (1600m)

#8 – Wolf Moon @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Wolf Moon comes off an impressive win at Doomben and he looks a type that could rise through the grades.

The three-year-old son of Wandjina scored by over a length and the form behind him should stack up nicely.

Barrier 12 could make it difficult but he owns talent and is good enough to beat this field.

Race 2. (13:58) Legacy BM75 (1800m)

#1 – Guise @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Guise can be tough to follow but she showed her class when winning at Randwick two starts back.

The Chris Waller-trained five-year-old didn’t back it up with much at Randwick last start, but she has never been a consistent type.

She won her only start at Sunshine Coast and meeting an easier field could turn her form back around.

Race 3. (14:37) Tatt’s Wedding Jewel Prelude (1000m)

#2 – Sweet Dolly @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The unbeaten record of Sweet Dolly is on the line and she has looked impressive winning both starts to date.

She scored by 5.8 lengths on debut at Townsville before winning by a length against a red-hot field at Eagle Farm, which included Fake Love.

Her recent trial win was recorded by 12.8 lengths, so expect another big effort.

Race 4. (15:17) Tatt’s Events Prelude (1000m)

#6 – Hamlet Von Snitzel @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hamlet Von Snitzel hasn’t been far away in two starts to date and he was making good ground at Doomben.

The well-bred son of Snitzel needs luck from barrier 15, but he has been respected in betting and this isn’t an overly tough field.

$5.50 is worth taking and it could pay to watch betting moves.

Race 5. (15:57) Travis Schultz Jewel Prelude 3YO (1000m)

#1 – Kisukano @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Punters will need to forgive Kisukano for a disappointing effort at Eagle Farm last start. She hit the rail and that stopped her in her tracks.

The three-year-old is classy at best with six wins from 10 starts, so punters should drop her just yet. She is paying value odds with bookmakers and she has beaten harder fields in the past.

Race 6. (16:37) Winning Edge BM80 (1000m)

#13 – Chivargo @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Chivargo comes off four wins from her last five starts and she should be tough to beat in this contest.

The Hansen-trained four-year-old is unbeaten in all three starts at Sunshine Coast, including a win over a good field in January.

With 54kg and Robbie Fradd in the saddle, punters are getting value odds.

Race 7. (17:13) IPG Marketing Solutions Handicap (1200m)

#7 – Gem of Scotland @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Gem of Scotland is speedy at best and her fresh up record consists of two wins from three attempts.

The four-year-old mare has yet to race at Sunshine Coast but it’s a track that should suit her running style.

Expect her to go forward and give a good kick in the straight.

Race 8. (17:50) Tattersalls Member’s Cup (1600m)

#2 – Ligulate @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Ligulate comes off back-to-back wins and he couldn’t have been more impressive when scoring by 2.3 lengths last time out.

The win at Eagle Farm stacks up nicely for this race and he placed at his only other attempt at Sunshine Coast, which bodes well.

Drawing wide holds no fears and he should be tough to hold out.

Race 9. (18:28) Garth Hughes Memorial BM75 (1400m)

#7 – Seat of Power @ $16 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Seat of Power is a four-time winner from 11 starts and he goes over the odds in the final race on the card.

The six-year-old is a two-time winner at this distance and although yet to run at Sunshine Coast, it’s a track that suits the son of Sea the Stars.

$16 is worth taking in the last race.
