Sunshine Coast Racing Tips for Saturday, July 4th 2026

The four-year-old son of Astern is a four-time winner at the track, and we thought he would be paying shorter odds to win.

#6 – Balance the Books @ $3.30

Punters who stuck with Balance the Books got rewarded last start, and she is worth including in picks again.

The Tony Gollan-trained mare owns four wins and two placings from eight starts, and although she has yet to run at Sunshine Coast, it’s a track that suits her style.

She will get back from the wide draw and storm home late.

#4 – Tengun Tommy @ $4.40

Tengun Tommy won impressively at Doomben last start despite a wide run, and he could make it back-to-back wins.

The two-year-old son of Flying Artie is in good hands with the Gollan stable, and we expect his odds to firm on race day.

#2 – Get Ready Lass @ $7.50

We’re taking the each-way odds for Get Ready Lass, who ended last preparation with placings at Eagle Farm.

The Chris Anderson-trained three-year-old has been primed with a trial placing, and she only needs luck from out wide to go close.

It’s a tough field, so the $7.50 is a fair price.

#14 – Wanda Rox @ $6.50

Wanda Rox is a short-course specialist, and she has an incredible fresh up record of five wins from six starts.

The six-year-old mare meets a tough field, but she is an eight-time winner at the distance, and a 13-time winner overall.

$6.50 for a runner of her ability is too good to turn down.

Race 6. (15:23) Double R Group Winx Guineas (1600m)

#10 – Within the Law @ $2.35

Within the Law has been waiting for an easier chance to score, and after running seventh at Group 1 level behind Splash Back, she gets her chance.

Racing against her own age is ideal, and the three-year-old filly gets every chance to win with only 55kg on her back.

She’s weighted beautifully, and $2.35 is a good price.

Pounding has a habit of finding one better, but after another top second placing behind Asterix, we can’t leave him out.

The seven-year-old has form behind some smart types, and he should find this easier than last week, and being on the quick back-up helps.

The each-way odds are worth including in horse racing picks.

#8 – Gerringong @ $5.50

Gerringong was well-backed to win the Tattersall’s Tiara last week, and it wasn’t a bad effort for third behind Splash Back.

The four-year-old mare ran well in her first start for the Munce stable, and she will find this level of racing much easier than Group 1 level.

#5 – Silver Wedding @ $3.40

Silver Wedding scored an impressive win fresh up, and we liked the way she found the line to place at Ipswich.

The Ciaron Maher-trained mare enjoys running in Queensland, and running at Sunshine Coast should be right up her alley.

Her odds have shortened, which isn’t surprising.
