Sunshine Coast horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:38) Martin Collins Australia Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Fierce Warrior – Bet @ Sportsbet

Fierce Warrior owns two wins from his last three starts and he got the job done easily last time out at Gold Coast.

The Stuart Kendrick-trained two-year-old has made a positive start to his career and although facing a harder field here, he has the class edge.

Drawing the inside barrier should be enough to see him win.

Race 2. (13:13) Sky Racing Maiden Plate (1400m)

#16 – She’s An Eagle – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Tony Gollan-trained filly looks well-placed to make another good run against a tough maiden field.

She comes off a second placing at Gold Coast and there was a lot to like about that performance, so we’re confident of a good effort.

Punters should get each-way odds and the apprentice claim will take her close.

Race 3. (13:48) Tab Long May We Play C6 Handicap (1400m)

#3 – Metamorphic – Bet @ Sportsbet

The seven-year-old scored a win prior to spelling and he returned with a solid effort for fourth at Doomben.

He was only 3.5 lengths behind some nice types and he is a past winner at Sunshine Coast, so he’s familiar with the track.

Barrier three and carrying 55.5kg is ideal, so expect another tidy run.

Race 4. (14:23) Caloundra Cup Day C1 Plate (1200m)

#6 – Larne Court – Bet @ Sportsbet

Larne Court is a three-year-old gelding that comes off a win at Gold Coast and he’s good enough to win again.

The son of Pride of Dubai scored by just under a length to break maidens and he doesn’t have much to beat in this race.

Drawing the rails is ideal and he should be well-backed to score.

Race 5. (14:58) Access Insulation C3 Handicap (1000m)

#1 – Goldsborough – Bet @ Sportsbet

Goldsborough has the class edge over this field and he showed that when winning fresh up at Sunshine Coast.

The three-year-old followed it up with a placing behind Kisukano, which is premier Saturday form. That bodes well for midweek level and carrying 60.5kg shouldn’t be a problem.

Expect another tidy effort and punters could get value odds.

Race 6. (15:33) Wimmers Premier Soft Drinks BM70 (2200m)

#2 – Raptures – Bet @ Sportsbet

Jockey Craig Williams has stayed in Queensland and partners Raptures, which has been running well in Sydney.

The Kris Lees-trained mare comes off a third placing at Canterbury and the daughter of Fastnet Rock is well-placed to take care of this field.

We expect late money to come her way.

Race 7. (16:08) Butler McDermott Lawyers C1 (1200m)

#8 – Daintree Diva – Bet @ Sportsbet

Daintree Diva is a three-year-old filly that comes off two solid runs this preparation and the fitness should help.

The daughter of Vancouver has finished in the money in four of her seven starts, so she is rarely too far away from the prize.

It’s not an easy field, so punters should get value odds.

Race 8. (16:45) Parklands Tavern C2 Handicap (1400m)

#6 – The Ritz – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Ritz looked good winning his first two career starts before finishing second behind Queen Dazzler at Eagle Farm.

He is a talented son of Mossman that is bred to handle soft track conditions and his recent trial win at Gold Coast is a good betting guide.

James Orman rides and he should prove tough to beat in the final race.
