Sunshine Coast free tips & form
Race 1. (12:33) Wimmers Prem. Soft Drinks Maiden (1600m)
#3 – Ausfall – Bet Now
Ausfall looks ready to break through for her maiden win after running second at Eagle Farm last time out.
The four-year-old mare was only a half-length behind the winner and that came in a relatively strong maiden field over 1600m.
Staying at this distance is ideal and drawing the inside barrier is only going to boost her chances.
Race 2. (13:08) Tab Handicap (2200m)
#1 – Intrigue – Bet Now
Kiwi runner which is trying to quality for Group 1 targets later this campaign but she was given an ordinary ride last start.
Leith Innes took off way too early on the three-year-old filly and she was left wanting over the concluding stages. A better ride here sees the two-time winner across the Tasman go close.
Dropping back from Saturday grade to Wednesday is ideal and she has the class edge.
Race 3. (13:43) Butler McDermott Lawyers Maiden (1000m)
#10 – Carrera To The Max – Bet Now
It’s an interesting decision for a Kiwi trainer to bring over a debutante, but it adds some intrigue to this race.
Nigel Tiley has a good record in NZ with his younger horses and this three-year-old by Snitzel is bred to show some early speed.
The fact he’s taken her over to win bigger prize money is a good sign and she gets the inside draw to her advantage.
Watch betting with interest.
Race 4. (14:18) Access Insulation Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Neptune’s Spear – Bet Now
Liam Birchley is no stranger to take his horses to New Zealand but the gamble didn’t pay off for Neptune’s Spear.
The two-year-old ran 10th in the Karaka Million but faced some slick customers and he will enjoy kicking off a new campaign in midweek company.
Drawing barrier 12 could make it tough but his debut win was good enough to see him going close in this.
Race 5. (14:53) Parklands Tavern C3 Handicap (1800m)
#7 – Galway – Bet Now
Galway capped off some consistent form with consecutive wins and that form should hold up nicely for this.
The three-year-old gelding scored by two lengths at Coffs Harbour two back and repeated the dose when scoring by a half-length at Taree.
That’s solid NSW country form and it should be good enough to see him running close.
Race 6. (15:28) Ladies Oaks Day C5 (1400m)
#9 – Dissolution – Bet Now
The form might not read overly well but Dissolution was much better when third last start. That form comes out of a nice race at Eagle Farm and he’s an improving type.
Brad Widdup lines up the former Sydney-based runner, which was good enough to run in a benchmark 88 race at Rosehill last year.
At his best, this son of Snitzel would put this field away.
Race 7. (16:03) Become A SCTC Member BM65 (1400m)
#6 – Trevelyan – Bet Now
Three-year-old which looked the goods when winning his first two starts. He then ran fourth at Canberra last start and although that was a touch average, he wasn’t far away.
His first two wins came at Moruya and that’s not the strongest track form wise, but he’s still got improvement left and could add some much-needed value here.
Race 8. (16:38) Oaks Resorts Handicap (1000m)
#3 – Ramtastic – Bet Now
Kelly Schweida lines up the three-year-old gelding which has two wins and one second placing from four starts.
It has been a good start to his career and considering his most recent run was a fifth in strong company at Eagle Farm, he shapes up well for this.
Bookmakers could have him at good value and he’s worth putting on top in the last race on the card.
