Sunshine Coast horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:08) Proliquor Maiden Handicap (1800m)
#1 – Savaspur – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the three-year-old gelding that owns three placings from five starts. He ran second at Wyong two starts back and that run holds him in good stead.
He couldn’t muster much at Hawkesbury last start but the move to Queensland usually gets the Waller runners to spark.
Expect a better effort this time around.
Race 2. (13:43) XXXX Dry Maiden (1800m)
#4 – Adelase – Bet Now
Adelase is getting close to a win after posting five consecutive placings this preparation. The Barry Baldwin-trained filly has been running close behind some nice types at maiden level.
Drawing barrier 12 isn’t ideal but she will have time to find cover over 1800m. Expect jockey Mark de Plessis to settle back and to come with a big run late.
Race 3. (14:18) Blake Machinery Group Maiden (1400m)
#5 – Kaaydeh – Bet Now
Looking to go one better than last start is Kaaydeh, which finished second at Sunshine Coast. The Dream Ahead filly was a length behind Star Barista and it should be a solid form guide.
She’s in good hands with Chris Anderson and having had experience on the track suits. She also draws well in barrier three and that bodes well.
Race 4. (14:53) Secure Access BM68 (2200m)
#2 – Champagne Vega – Bet Now
Champagne Vega is getting close to a win after posting three placings. The four-year-old has won three of his 20 starts and it could have easily been more.
He finished a nose behind the winner at Doomben last start and he has been knocking on the door for a while now.
Punters should get each-way odds with bookmakers.
Race 5. (15:28) Suncoast Cabs Maiden (1000m)
#1 – Amiche – Bet Now
Amiche did well during her first season, which included two second placings from two starts.
The David Vandyke-trained three-year-old ran a half-length behind both winners and it’s form that should stack up nicely for this race.
She has been off the scene since October but a good resumption is expected.
Race 6. (16:03) Q Advertising Handicap (1000m)
#11 – One Shy Ruby – Bet Now
One Shy Ruby finished second behind Highland Son on debut but she’s drawn considerably better for this run.
The Anderson-trained filly gets barrier four and Highland Son gets 18, so she should be able to find a great spot throughout the run.
It could make the difference so stick with her.
Race 7. (16:38) Tab BM62 (1400m)
#10 – Enchantingly – Bet Now
The Waller-trained filly is coming off a maiden win at Ipswich and she could go back-to-back. She won by a nose in a driving finish and it showed her will to win.
Drawing barrier 14 could make it harder here but she’s a nice type on the rise and she’s worth sticking with.
Punters should get a good price.
Race 8. (17:15) Yalumba BM62 (1000m)
#5 – Lotsa Spirit – Bet Now
Lotsa Spirit kicked off his campaign with a third on this track and he’s good enough to improve on that.
The Steven O’Dea-trained four-year-old owns a win and two placings from four starts, so he’s capable of beating this field.
Drawing the inside barrier is ideal over this distance.
Race 9. (17:50) GT Print Handicap (1000m)
#2 – Iced – Bet Now
Iced didn’t fire last start but that was his first failure to finish in the third three home. He had won or placed in his 10 starts prior, so his record is outstanding.
The son of More than Ready scored an open-class win two starts back at Gold Coast and that form looks great for this race.
Ryan Maloney rides so expect a top effort.
Race 10. (18:30) Resi Homes C1 Handicap (1300m)
#2 – Atyaaf – Bet Now
Atyaaf is getting close to a win after posting four second placings from six starts this preparation. The son of Lonhro ran second at Ipswich last start and he could go one better.
He has only one win from 13 starts but it shouldn’t take him long to score the elusive second success.
Each-way odds should be available.
