Sunshine Coast horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:43) Paddy Walsh Painting Maiden (1300m)
#10 – Central America – Bet Now
It won’t take long for Central America to breakthrough and it could be here. The three-year-old filly finished third at Sunshine Coast last start and this is an easier target.
Trained by Steven O’Dea, the daughter of Sebring has plenty of potential and she should get a good run throughout.
Race 2. (14:18) Haymans Electrical Handicap (1400m)
#5 – Lucky Jackson – Bet Now
Lucky Jackson scored back-to-back wins on this track before running third at Doomben last start. It was a good effort and the small field made it tricky.
He owns five wins and four placings on this track, so he has the experience and talent to win at Sunshine Coast again.
Having Larry Cassidy in the saddle only adds to the appeal.
Race 3. (14:53) Go Transit Media Group Maiden (1000m)
#11 – Queen Sweeper – Bet Now
Queen Sweeper has the advantage of race experience and she showed enough during her first campaign.
The two-year-old filly finished third on debut at Doomben before running second at Sunshine Coast. It was a good effort and she gets every chance here.
Expect a tidy run and she should pay each-way odds.
Race 4. (15:28) Adams/Sparkes Town Maiden (1000m)
#12 – One Shy Ruby – Bet Now
The Chris Anderson-trained filly has had the benefit of a run and it holds her in good stead. She finished a close second on debut behind Highland Son and that bodes well.
The daughter of Rubick has been patiently handled since her maiden run and although the break might not be ideal, she might have too much class for them.
Race 5. (16:03) Higgins Coatings Maiden (1000m)
#11 – More Than Likely – Bet Now
It was an encouraging effort from More Than Likely last start and she could build on that effort.
Her run for second on this track had plenty of merit and she showed good barrier speed, which should see her win many races.
The inside draw is ideal and we’re expecting a good effort.
Race 6. (16:38) All Pest Qld Maiden (1600m)
#1 – Bellicose – Bet Now
The form of Bellicose has improved significantly and he’s now knocking on the door of a win. He finished second at his last two starts, both coming on this track.
The three-year-old has shown good speed from the barriers at his last three starts. If he’s able to find the front again, they might have a tough time catching him.
Stick with him as a win comes shortly.
Race 7. (17:15) Stanley River Thoroughbreds Handicap (2200m)
#3 – Empire Games – Bet Now
Empire Games has gone awfully close his last two starts without winning. The three-year-old is a son of Adelaide, so he’s going to love rising to this distance.
It will be his fifth run on this track and having already scored his maiden win here, he could add another to the record.
Look for an each-way price from bookies.
Race 8. (17:50) Tab C1 Handicap (1800m)
#2 – Marakopa – Bet Now
Marakopa is coming off a win at Toowoomba and although this is harder, he has the ability to rise through the grades.
The son of Sacred Falls paid a good price when breaking maiden grades and punters should get similar odds this time around.
Watch for any late betting moves with the Waller-trained runner.
Race 9. (18:30) Maleny Hotel BM72 (1600m)
#10 – Meyer – Bet Now
Meyer is from the Kris Lees stable and she was good enough to win back-to-back races earlier this season.
The three-year-old filly didn’t handle open class last time out, but dropping back to BM72 is going to help.
We’re expecting a quick turnaround effort.
