Sunshine Coast horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:03) Archer Park Racing Handicap (1000m)

#8 – Honey Pot @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Tony Gollan lines up the two-year-old filly that cost $300,000. She was too good for them in a recent trial win, which bodes well.

Barrier nine is the only negative, but we’re confident Honey Pot can make a winning debut on Saturday.

The early betting support adds confidence.

Race 2. (12:38) Flash Fibres High Speed 0MW (1000m)

#2 – Aleysa’s Dream @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Aleysa’s Dream showed excellent form when winning three of her last four races at Rockhampton.

She has yet to win in two attempts at Sunshine Coast, but she finished second behind Goldsborough last season, which is an excellent form guide.

2kg comes off her back and punters get value odds.

Race 3. (13:13) Krew Racing C3 Plate (1800m)

#3 – Neutron @ $2.35 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Neutron has been right around the mark this season, including a win at Doomben three starts back.

The Kacy Fogden-trained four-year-old wasn’t far behind a smart type last start and we expect that form to stack up nicely.

Getting the inside draw makes him tough to beat.

Race 4. (13:48) Kendrick Racing Quality (1600m)

#6 – Caboche @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Caboche scored emphatically by 6.5 lengths at Eagle Farm last start and another win is on the cards.

The Chris Waller-trained son of Vadamos looks set to rise through the grades and we’re surprised that he’s not shorter in the betting.

He could be a runner worth following.

Race 5. (14:28) Innovative Plan Solutions BM75 (1400m)

#13 – Nicci’s Spirit @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Nicci’s Spirit has won her last three races at Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Eagle Farm, which bodes well for this race.

She has yet to finish worse than third from two starts at Sunshine Coast and she has beaten some smart types of late.

Barrier 13 makes it harder, but class takes her close.

Race 6. (15:08) Travis Schultz & Partners Handicap (1000m)

#2 – Glorious Ruby @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Glorious Ruby owns three wins and five placings from nine starts, so the three-year-old filly shouldn’t be left out.

The daughter of Your Song owns a win and a placing from two starts at Sunshine Coast, and this is her preferred distance.

2kg comes off her back and $7 is well worth taking.

Race 7. (15:48) The Wharf Mooloolaba Swiss Ace (1000m)

#4 – Shooting For Gold @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Shooting For Gold is shooting for four consecutive wins after stringing three wins together last preparation.

The four-year-old is a seven-time winner from 11 starts, so he’s a quality type that demands respect in this race.

He hits the ground running and we’ll happily take the $5.

Race 8. (16:28) Sky Racing Mooloolaba Cup (1600m)

#5 – Wapiti @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Wapiti is never too far away from the prize and he does some of his best racing at Sunshine Coast.

The five-year-old scored a win at Toowoomba two back before running third at Eagle Farm behind Milk Man. That is a solid form guide for this race and we’re expecting a big effort.

Punters should enjoy the odds available.

Race 9. (17:12) Landmark Resort & Spa C6 Handicap (1200m)

#6 – Sir Warwick @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Sir Warwick has won all four starts this campaign and he should go forward and give them something to catch.

The four-year-old gelding is a four-time winner over this distance and getting barrier three should see him have no problems finding the front.

Punters get value odds.
