Sunshine Coast horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:43) Innovative Planning Solutions (1000m)
#7 – Apple Tart – Bet @ Sportsbet
Apple Tart is on debut after placing in a recent trial and she wasn’t asked to do much in the run.
The well-bred daughter of Sebring has the key booking of Jim Byrne and that should tell punters all they need to know.
Drawing barrier 12 doesn’t help but carrying 54kg should bring her into contention.
Race 2. (14:18) Riceboi Mooloolaba BM72 (1600m)
#10 – Champagne Toots – Bet @ Sportsbet
Champagne Toots comes into this on the back of two placings and she is good enough to return to winning form.
The Edmonds-trained daughter of Sacred Falls is a two-time winner and she will get every chance off the inside draw.
Robbie Fradd is an aggressive rider and that will help her chances.
Race 3. (14:53) Archer Park Racing Handicap (1400m)
#10 – Nicks – Bet @ Sportsbet
Nicks owns a win and a placing from four starts and those performances came at Sunshine Coast.
The Kendrick-trained filly was only a half-length behind the winner last start and although beaten, she will take plenty of benefit from the outing.
Carrying 54kg could be enough to see her take out this race.
Race 4. (15:33) Kendrick Racing 1MW (1200m)
#7 – Totally Charmed – Bet @ Sportsbet
Totally Charmed doesn’t know how to run a bad race and punters should stick with him. He owns five wins and seven placings from 16 starts, which is an impressive record.
His most recent performance was a win on this track and four of his five wins have come at Sunshine Coast.
He only needs luck from barrier 12 to beat them again.
Race 5. (16:13) Landmark Resort & Spa C3 Plate (1200m)
#4 – Stylish Saga – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters had some nervous moments last start, but Stylish Saga got the job done in the shadows of the post.
The Chris Anderson-trained gelding scored his third win from 10 starts and he hasn’t finished worse than second at Sunshine Coast.
He gets a dream run from barrier four and punters should continue to follow him.
Race 6. (16:53) Travis Schultz & Partners Handicap (1000m)
#4 – Goldsborough – Bet @ Sportsbet
Goldsborough won like a good horse last start when holding off the fast-finishing Isotope. It is a good form win and he has plenty of upside.
The three-year-old son of Headwater will need to be good to beat Gotta Kiss, but he has the fitness edge and that should factor into it.
Barrier three and 55kg on his back is another bonus.
Race 7. (17:33) The Wharp Mooloolaba Swiss Ace (1000m)
#7 – Sugar Boom – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sugar Boom returned to form when scoring at Doomben and it came easily by over two lengths.
The Tony Gollan-trained mare followed that up with an impressive 3.8-length trial win at Deagon, which bodes well for this race.
Punters could get value odds for Sugar Boom, in what should be a competitive race.
Race 8. (18:10) Sky Racing Mooloolaba Cup (1600m)
#8 – Ballistic Boy – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Anderson-trained runner sprinted home hard to finish second last start and he could go one better on Saturday.
He is a four-time winner from 16 starts that scored a win at his only start at Sunshine Coast. There is plenty to like about his record and he could add to it.
Having only 54kg on his back should make him tough to hold out.
Race 9. (18:45) Krew Racing C6 Handicap (1400m)
#5 – Love Struck – Bet @ Sportsbet
Love Struck could strike in the last race and continue what has been a successful season to date.
The five-year-old gelding has won three of his last five starts, including a half-length win at Doomben last time out.
Punters should get value odds in the final race on the card.
