Tarzino Trophy Form Guide & Tips
(1) Puntura ($27.00)
He ran well for sixth fresh up, but she might not get wet conditions to suit.
We can’t see him figuring in the finish at the odds.
(2) Waitak ($12.00)
The Group 1 winner has class on his side, but he might need another run to warm up.
Getting the inside draw could be seen as a positive, but he wants room to move, and he’s unlikely to get it at Hastings.
(3) Sacred Satono (Best Roughie – $13.00)
It was a handy fresh up effort, and he always improves with a run under his belt.
The five-year-old has yet to race at Hastings, but his best form comes over the 1400m distance, and the double-figure odds appeal.
Barrier three adds to his appeal.
(4) Crocetti (Best Bet – $2.00)
Crocetti is one of the best thoroughbreds in New Zealand, and we love the way he dug deep to score at Ruakaka in heavy conditions.
With eight wins from nine starts, and Warren Kennedy in the saddle, he should be tough to beat at the $2.00 odds.
We’re happy to take the odds before they firm throughout the week.
(5) Geriatrix ($27.00)
He wants a few runs under his belt before his best form returns, so hitting the line would be good enough.
However, we can’t see him getting close enough over this distance.
(6) Bonny Lass ($4.80)
That was a superb win fresh up when beating many rivals in this field, and we’re happy to include her at the each-way odds.
This is a harder ask, but we’re not leaving her out of calculations.
(7) Skew Wiff (Best Each Way – $6.00)
The five-year-old mare ran third behind Bonny Lass fresh up, and that’s an excellent form guide for this race.
She won her only start at Hastings, and with Opie Bosson riding, she’s likely to get all favours in the run.
Punters get each-way odds, which are worth snapping up.
(8) Faraglioni ($15.00)
Her fresh up form is solid, and she often runs her best races in the big races.
With two wins and two placings from five starts at Hastings, we’re not prepared to leave him out of calculations.
(9) Snazzytavi ($31.00)
Consistent form is with Snazzytavi, with five wins from 10 starts, but she’s likely to struggle in this race.
We are more excited to see her at the end of the carnival in long races.
(10) Blissful Belle ($27.00)
She’s trained on the track, but that’s where the positives end. She will need the run, hence the lengthening odds.
(11) Grail Seeker ($27.00)
The ability is there, but we’re not sure she’s up to facing this level of opposition.
