The Galaxy Form Guide & Tips
1. Pierata (Best Bet – $4.80) Bet Now
Pierata is the class of this field and he should run accordingly. He’s a two-time winner fresh up and owns nine career wins in total.
Drawing barrier 11 won’t be an issue as he’ll find a good spot and work into the race nicely. He comes into this having won a trial at Warwick Farm and punters are getting value each-way odds.
2. In Her Time ($13) Bet Now
In Her Time has been average at her last three starts, but her ability is top-level. She has $3.7 million in the bank, so she must always have respect.
Punters are getting good odds here and she has five wins fresh up. The $13 is a fair price, and she’s a first four chance.
3. Kementari ($11) Bet Now
Kementari has been a punters worst nightmare for some time now, so we’re not suggesting you part with your money again.
He’s talented at best, but doesn’t seem interested in showing it. Wait until he finds some form, or look for a betting move on race day.
4. Savatiano (Best Each Way – $7) Bet Now
Savatiano ran second behind The Bostonian in the Canterbury Stakes last start and there’s nothing wrong with that form.
He opened at $5.50 and has drifted out a point, but we’re not sure why. He can handle wet tracks and running with only 54kg is ideal.
5. Deprive ($8) Bet Now
Deprive runs best at Randwick as opposed to Rosehill. He didn’t fire last start when fifth but he’s another light weight chance.
Watch for any late betting moves.
6. Jungle Edge ($17) Bet Now
Jungle Edge loves the conditions but he has lost some of his speed. He doesn’t run overly well at this track and despite having a light weight, we can’t have him in selections.
His Group 1 days might be behind him.
7. Miss Leonidas ($34) Bet Now
It was an improved run when fourth last time out, but Miss Leonidas doesn’t have Group 1 ability against this opposition.
She does get the inside draw but it might not be the place to be come Race 8.
8. Fasika ($7) Bet Now
Fasika has been respected in the betting and rightfully so. The four-year-old mare scored by a length last start and her record of four wins from seven starts is impressive.
She’s a horse on the rise and good enough to win this race. The $7 should remain steady in the market.
9. I Am Excited ($26) Bet Now
I Am Excited flashed home late last start and it’s a nice effort going forward. Her lack of recent wins is a concern however.
Having 51kg on her back helps and Tim Clark is riding well at present.
10. Madam Rouge ($16) Bet Now
The Waller-trained mare is in good form after winning three of her last four starts. They didn’t come against this level of opposition, but it’s good form.
She could run on nicely and fill a minor spot with some luck.
11. Soothing ($17) Bet Now
Most Cummings-trained runners deserve respect and Soothing goes into the category. She has won seven of her 18 starts, and a big win isn’t far away.
We’re expecting her to remain steady in the betting and don’t overlook the $17.
12. Tofane ($26) Bet Now
Tofane hasn’t done much this preparation and we couldn’t recommend her here.
13. Pretty In Pink ($41) Bet Now
The Pretty in Pink of old would have stood a chance but she’s not racing in good form.
She showed nothing in three runs last season, so she’s tough to recommend.
14. Anaheed ($10) Bet Now
Money is coming for the talented filly that gets right down in the weights at 50kg. She showed them a clean pair of heels two back, but showing little last time out.
She has the ability to rebound and she has since won a trial at Randwick.
15. Cosmic Force ($6.50) Bet Now
Cosmic Force is a dual-nominee on Saturday, but if the colt lines up here, he’s a live chance of winning.
The three-year-old has only 50kg on his back and his turn-of-foot could be shown off. Glen Boss takes the ride and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him winning.
16. God of Thunder (Best Roughie – $26) Bet Now
Sleeping on God of Thunder would be a mistake. He didn’t handle the Flemington straight last start, so overlook that run.
He loves this track and conditions, so we can’t believe the odds offered by bookmakers. Take the $26 as a great value bet.
17. Splintex ($51) Bet Now
That was a tough win last start but this is much harder. Tough to recommend.
