2018 Goodwood Form Guide & Tips
Vega Magic (Best Bet – $3.10) – BET NOW
The class sprinter of this field, Vega Magic should be tough to beat here.
Trained by Lindsay Park, the five-year-old has won over $3.3 million after winning 12 from 20 starts and that record is better than his rivals by some margin.
He’s on track for The Everest and despite drawing wide, he’s the one they all have to worry about.
Santa Ana Lane (Best Roughie – $18) – BET NOW
Big run for third behind Sprightly Lass last time out and he should improve from that run.
He’s only a five-time winner from 25 starts but he often pays a good price when he does win and he’s worth including at odds.
Thronum ($11) – BET NOW
Doesn’t lack barrier speed and that’s always a positive.
Second behind Hellbent at Moonee Valley last start and although stepping up in class for this, he has a big win in store somewhere down the line.
Secret Agenda ($15) – BET NOW
Good win fresh up this campaign and although disappointing at Moonee Valley, he quickly bounced back with two placings on this track.
Drawing barrier 19 will make it tough as he likes to settle close to the pace but don’t rule him out.
Viddora (Best Each Way – $7.50) – BET NOW
Missed a run last start and the confidence in the market has disappeared, but this mare is talented at best and worth a bet.
The Group 1 winner has experience winning in this grade and she’s an adaptable type which can sit anywhere in the running.
$8.50 is a much better price than she should be framed at so take the value on offer.
Voodoo Lad ($10) – BET NOW
Lethal sprinter on his day as his record suggests with 10 wins from 24 starts.
There is money around in the betting and getting the inside draw will allow the six-year-old to sit handy to the pace and give a good kick.
Ferrando ($41) – BET NOW
Kiwi sprinter which sits on the pace and always gives a good kick.
NZ sprinting form doesn’t stack up at Group 1 level and this could be a stretch too far for the runner from across the Tasman.
Super Cash ($15) – BET NOW
Not the most consistent type running around but she has the ability to cause an upset on any given day.
She scored a nice win at Caulfield before running into trouble on this track last start and punters should be forgiving of that effort.
First four hope.
Stellar Collision ($26) – BET NOW
Consistent runner which has finished in the first three at his last seven starts but this should be too tough for him.
Viridine ($17) – BET NOW
Three-year-old colt which isn’t suited by the weights at 55.5kg.
Entitled to win last start on this track and we’re doubting whether he has come back the same horse as he showed during his first preparation.
Steel Frost ($21) – BET NOW
Winner of nine from 18 and he has a nice future ahead of him but winning at Group 1 level might never come.
Needs to find another gear and the $21 is a touch short for our liking.
Lope De Capio ($101) – BET NOW
In poor form this campaign and shouldn’t be entered in this race.
Flamberge ($20) – BET NOW
Always capable of causing an upset and the former Group 1 winner wasn’t far behind them last time out.
Loves winning at odds and we wouldn’t put it past the eight-year-old down in the weights.
Handsome Thief ($26) – BET NOW
Took some time to score a win of note but he has won two of his last three and he owns some good early speed.
The Weir/Yendall combination knows how to win the big races so don’t discount.
Overshare ($67) – BET NOW
Has won and placed this campaign but he looks well-held against this opposition.
Has nice credentials but prefer to see against his own age.
Exalted Adam ($101) – BET NOW
The odds tell you all you need to know.
He would need to find lengths but it would be a nice story for Clare Lindop.
I’ll Have A Bit ($27) – BET NOW
Upset winner at $151 last time out and whilst the win was fantastic, it’s unlikely to happen again.
Weight helps but place chances seem best.
Missrock ($23) – BET NOW
Hasn’t won for a long time now and that’s the big concern.
There’s no denying her ability but we can’t look past the four wins from 24 starts record.
Mica Lil ($35) – BET NOW
Shorter in the market than expected at $34.
Good run at triple-figure odds last start but it would take a bigger effort to place in this.
Nipperkin ($201) – BET NOW
Unlikely to run in the first half of the field.
