The Hunter Form Guide & Tips

1. Lost and Running (Best Bet – $3.20) Bet @ Sportsbet

Lost and Running comes off a second placing behind Eduardo and that’s the best form in this race.

The John O’Shea-trained sprinter keep getting bad draws, so he’ll need to drop back, but watch for his big sprint late in the race.

2. Top Ranked ($4.80) Bet @ Sportsbet

An imported runner from Europe who has solid form. He has been well-found in betting markets, which is a good sign.

Should be better over the mile, but include as an interesting runner.

3. Gem Song ($19) Bet @ Sportsbet

Its best form comes fresh up and getting the inside draw is ideal. Best form might be behind it, but he won his only start on this track.

Drifting in betting markets, which isn’t a good sign.

4. Kementari ($26) Bet @ Sportsbet

A winner fresh up when returning to his best. Form only fair since and he would need to find a few lengths to win.

5. Bandersnatch (Best Each Way – $7) Bet @ Sportsbet

A two-time winner fresh up and its form to end last season including back-to-back wins.

He’s a quick type, and although this level is tough, he should push forward and try run them into the ground.

6. Signore Fox ($31) Bet @ Sportsbet

Nothing wrong with its two efforts this campaign, and he’s a past winner at Newcastle.

Distance suits, but drawing barrier 19 could make it too tough.

7. Standout ($17) Bet @ Sportsbet

Hit the line nicely behind Eduardo last time out. We think that’s a good form guide and we wouldn’t be leaving him out of calculations at the price.

8. Dawn Passage ($13) Bet @ Sportsbet

We can’t put that last effort out of our minds. He would need to find a few lengths on that effort, and the $13 is far too short.

9. Roheryn ($35) Bet @ Sportsbet

Not running well enough to warrant attention at this level. Better for two runs back from a spell, but we couldn’t put our hard-earned money on him.

10. Sweet Deal ($34) Bet @ Sportsbet

She gets conditions to suit but she hasn’t been at her best this year. A two-time winner at Newcastle, but drawing barrier 16 makes it harder.

11. Prime Candidate (Best Roughie – $18) Bet @ Sportsbet

Getting close after three consecutive third placings, including one behind Quantico at Flemington.

That form is stacking up nicely and with only 54kg on his back, we wouldn’t be surprised if he finished over the top.

12. Special Reward ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet

Form has been terrible of late, which is disappointing to see. Might be better suited racing during the autumn.

13. Stockman ($46) Bet @ Sportsbet

Ended last campaign with back-to-back wins, but he will likely need a few runs to find his best form.

14. Countofmontecristo ($67) Bet @ Sportsbet

Not suited to running at this level. Comes off a seventh at Hawkesbury, and that form isn’t going to get it done.

15. Wandabaa ($27) Bet @ Sportsbet

Dropping to 52kg makes a big difference for a talented runner. Capable of beating a field like this, so she enters first four calculations.

Punters get odds worth taking, so include.

16. Criaderas ($21) Bet @ Sportsbet

Nothing wrong with its sectionals when running fifth last time out. Hit the line well enough and carrying 52kg brings him into contention.

Watch for him late and he has been backed in from an opening quote of $31.

17. Brutality ($81) Bet @ Sportsbet

Didn’t fire fresh up and the odds reflect his chances of winning.

18. Never Talk ($51) Bet @ Sportsbet

Disappointing this campaign and we have given her plenty of chances. Not this time.

19. Pandano ($151) Bet @ Sportsbet

Unlikely to run and it wouldn’t be much chance if he does.
