#11 Smooth Chino @ $6.00

Best Roughie

#5 Jedibeel @ $20.00

The Quokka Tips for Trifecta

Punters should have five runners on their ticket for The Quokka trifecta. We recommend taking a boxed percentage trifecta. Spend what you want, and the payouts can be massive.

  • Caballus
  • Smooth Chino
  • Jedibeel
  • Jigsaw
  • Rey Magnerio

The Quokka First-Four Tips

We have included seven runners for our Quokka first-four. Boxing all seven selections for a percentage can still result in a huge payout, and you spend what you want.

  • Caballus
  • Smooth Chino
  • Jedibeel
  • Jigsaw
  • Rey Magnerio
  • Luana Miss
  • Spywire

The Quokka Runner-By-Runner Guide

1. Jigsaw @ $4.60

His form this season has been excellent, including Group 1 wins either side of the Tasman.

It’s tough to rule him out from the wide draw, as he will likely attempt to find the front and give punters a good sight.

Include him in picks at each-way odds.

2. Caballus (Best Bet) @ $4.60

Too good for them in the Newmarket last start, and Group 1-winning form should hold up well in The Quokka.

He has come of age nicely this season, and he should go close if he gets cover from an awkward draw, which is his only negative.

3. Rey Magnerio @ $4.80

A fan favourite, and although sixth last time out, it wasn’t a bad run. He should benefit from the outing, and he could finish over the top of them.

We’re happy to include him in trifecta and first four picks at the current odds.

4. Magnificent Andy @ $46.00

Winning this race fresh up could prove difficult, and his form last preparation wasn’t good enough to feature here.

5. Jedibeel (Best Roughie) @ $20.00

He’s not an easy runner to follow, but he comes off a Group 1 placing in Sydney when running only a nose behind Marhoona.

That was a good return to form for the experienced sprinter, who is a live chance of winning at double-figure odds.

6. Spywire @ $15.00

We don’t know if he’s quite up to this level of racing, but getting the inside draw should see him land in a good position.

He’s tough enough to win with the right run in transit, so he could enter calculations for first four players.

7. Oscar's Fortune @ $27.00

Not everything went right for him in the Roma Cup, and he might be forced to do too much work from a wide barrier.

He will get back and look to run on, but the winning run might have been already made by the time he warms up.

8. Rope Them In @ $31.00

A winner of the Roma Cup last start, but there are better form guides for The Quokka. At the odd, we’re happy to leave him out.

9. West Star @ $35.00

Only average when resuming, and we thought the odds would be longer than $35.

10. Sisu Warrior @ $151.00

Big odds after winning last start, but this is a much harder race. Wouldn’t be in our top 10 picks.

11. Smooth Chino (Best Each Way) @ $6.00

He has yet to finish worse than second from seven starts, including six wins. He was beaten for the first time fresh up, but he needed the run.

The talent is there to handle this field, and he’s being slept on at the current odds.

12. Talkanco @ $31.00

A handy enough type on her day, but this is a tough race for a filly. She could get overpowered in the straight, so we’re not including her in picks.

13. Luana Miss @ $8.00

She had no luck in the Roma Cup last start, and although a filly, she has more upside than Talkanco.

She gets a good run from barrier six, and she is one of the better local chances in The Quokka.

14. Repossession @ $81.00

Big odds, and improvement is needed on recent efforts. Hard to include him in picks.

15. Cessation @ $91.00

Nominated for another race on the card, and she is a better bet there.

16. Cut the Talk @ $151.00

Unlikely to run, as the odds suggest.

17. Sky Duke @ $201.00

He would need to find 6-7 lengths to have any chance.
