Thursday horse racing tips

Warrnambool
—
Race 1. (13:00) Matko Hire Maiden Plate (1100m)
#4 – Villa Villekulla @ $2.10 – Bet Now
Patrick Payne lines up the lightly-tried four-year-old that finished second on debut at Echuca.
The son of Kuroshio was only a head behind Just Folk and we are expecting form out of that maiden to stack up nicely this season.
We are not surprised to see money come his way throughout the week so follow any positive market leads.
Race 3. (14:00) Ace Radio Maiden (2000m)
#13 – Silk Jacket @ $2.30 – Bet Now
After opening at $3.30 with bookmakers, Silk Jacket has firmed into $2.30. The Matt Cumani-trained mare opened her account this preparation with a second placing at Murtoa.
It was a solid effort and the daughter of Helmet hit the line strongly, which is always a positive sign going forward.
She will likely settle back from the draw but the 2000m distance is right up her alley.
Race 5. (15:00) Optus Warrnambool BM64 (1000m)
#2 – Elderflower @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Lindsay Smith lines up the four-year-old mare that has yet to finish worse than third from six career starts.
The daughter of Toronado owns three wins, including one at Ballarat last time out. She faces different track conditions for this race, but she owns a placing on rain-affected ground.
Drawing the inside barrier is ideal and she gets a claimer to take some weight off the allotted 61.5kg.
Race 6. (15:30) The Midfield Group BM64 (1200m)
#4 – Café Tortoni @ $5 – Bet Now
Café Tortoni is talented at best and he could make a winning return to the track. The Payne-trained gelding owns two wins and three placings from nine starts but he struggled last preparation.
He looked best when running second behind Nudge Bar at Morphettville and dropping back to midweek class should help his chances.
He needs luck from the draw but punters are getting value odds.

Coffs Harbour
—
Race 1. (12:35) Schweppes Ken Howard Cup (2000m)
#1 – Ready for Danger @ $3.60 – Bet Now
The seven-year-old has been below his best recently but we can’t deny the class of Ready for Danger.
He is a nine-time winner for Matthew Dunn and a change in scenery could help his chances. It will be his first attempt at Coffs Harbour and it’s a track that should suit.
He could start favourite so the $3.60 is a value price.
Race 3. (13:50) Bellbowrie Motors C2 (1600m)
#9 – Enterprise Keren @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Enterprise Keren was the beaten favourite at Ballina last start but she wasn’t far behind the winner.
The four-year-old daughter of Mossman was only 2.5 lengths behind Toots is Tops and she deserves another chance.
She handles wet tracks and she will get every chance from an inside barrier. Watch late betting moves for a better indication.
Race 5. (15:05) Toormina Hotel BM58 (1000m)
#2 – Fair Dinkum @ $3.10 – Bet Now
Fair Dinkum is getting close to a win after posting consecutive placings at Taree. The five-year-old gelding made up good ground last start and that is a good sign for this contest.
He loves this distance with 14 starts for two wins and six placings. It bodes well for another good effort and punters are getting fair odds.
The $3.10 could shorten to around $2.40 on race day.
Race 6. (15:40) Coffs Toyota Daniel Barker Handicap (1200m)
#6 – Snowzone @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Snowzone is searching for consecutive wins after scoring narrowly at Doomben last time out.
The Kris Lees-trained four-year-old settled just behind the pace and kicked strongly in the straight. It was a gutsy effort and he has always had the ability to win back-to-back races.
He is a four-time winner at this distance and the $2.20 is a fair price from bookmakers.
