Thursday horse racing tips

Wyong

Race 2. (13:50) Sky Racing Metro & Prov Maiden (1350m)

#8 – Lady of Luxury @ $2.25 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Lady of Luxury finished second in the Magic Millions Maiden three starts back and she followed that up with a placing at Randwick.

The three-year-old daughter of Criterion didn’t fire last start, but she is better than that and should be given another chance.

$2.25 is a fair price against this class.

Race 3. (14:25) De Bortoli Wines Maiden (1300m)

#7 – The Bullring @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Kim Waugh lines up the two-year-old gelding that did well to run third on debut at Scone.

The son of Rubick has plenty of improvement in store and seeing support in the betting markets is a positive.

Jason Collett rides and we’re expecting a top effort.

Race 4. (15:05) Great Northern On Tap Maiden (1100m)

#3 – Zain’s Girl @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Zain’s Girl went close to breaking through last campaign and she gets a good chance to score on Thursday.

The Mark Newnham-trained filly finished the campaign with three consecutive placings, including one at Newcastle.

Her trial form consists of two wins at Warwick Farm and Hawkesbury, so she could hit the ground running this time in.

Race 5. (15:40) Book Now Provincial Championships C1 (1350m)

#1 – Seleque @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

$3.10 is a great price for Seleque following her win at Warwick Farm, which bodes well for this level of racing.

The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old defeated Military Parade and that is better form than what she faces at Wyong on Thursday.

60kg is a leveler but we’re confident of her chances.

Race 6. (16:15) Canadian Club Maiden Handicap (1200m)

#3 – Impressive Lass @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Impressive Lass should have a better record than one placing from five starts, and that could all change on Thursday.

The three-year-old daughter of Real Impact comes off a fourth placing at Warwick Farm behind Seleque, so that form could be a good form guide in Race 5.

Barrier 11 isn’t ideal but she has the class to overcome it.

Pakenham

Race 1. (18:00) Sportsbet Sonny Clifton Maiden (1000m)

#4 – Keep On Bopping @ $2.15 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Keep On Bopping ran third in both career starts last campaign and he has enough upside to take out this race.

The three-year-old son of Shamus Award was 6.5 lengths behind the winner at Morphettville last start, but this is an easier contest and the money is on.

Punters are confident and he could start the night in fine form.

Race 2. (18:30) Magic Millions Adelaide Maiden (1400m)

#9 – Vidiano @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Vidiano is getting close to a win after posting consecutive placings from her first two career starts.

The Peter Moody-trained three-year-old finished third at Geelong on debut before running second at Sandown.

The daughter if Pierro would have appreciated the experience last start and she took on race winners, so dropping back to maiden grade is ideal.

Race 5. (20:00) Drouin & District Bank BM64 (1600m)

#9 – I Am Chickasaw @ $2.05 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Lloyd Kennewell-trained filly comes off a superb win at Moonee Valley and that form stacks up nicely in this grade.

She capped off consistent form, which included four placings from her first six starts. The daughter of I Am Invincible is likely to rise through the grades now.

$2.05 is on the shorter side but she looks like a good bet.

Race 6. (20:30) Warragul Country Club C1 Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Right of Man @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Rights of Man scored an easy win on debut at Kyneton by 1.3 lengths and he could rise through the grades this season.

The Danny O’Brien-trained three-year-old is a well-bred type that has been supported in early betting markets.

We expect him to be tough to beat, so watch the market for any further betting moves.
