We have expert betting tips for the cards this Thursday at Echuca and Wyong.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Thursday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.
Thursday horse racing tips
Race 2. (13:00) Blue Fox Maiden Plate (1100m)
#13 – Shambo @ $2.05 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Shambo wasn’t far away when finishing fourth on debut at Sandown and he should appreciate the race fitness.
The two-year-old gelding by Shamexpress was 3.2 lengths behind the winner and he gets the services of Jamie Kah in the saddle.
The $2.05 could shorten to around $1.80 on race day.
Race 4. (14:00) Echuca Cih Sales & Service Maiden (2100m)
#11 – Fantastic Galaxy @ $2.10 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Fantastic Glory improved to finish second at Cranbourne last start and the three-year-old filly has upside.
The daughter of Dundeel relished the rise in distance and there are no superstars in this race, so she could take advantage.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see a big betting push on race day.
Race 6. (15:00) EDG Space BM64 (1200m)
#12 – Free Flying Star @ $3.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Free Flying Star capped off consistent form with a win at Echuca and her turn-of-foot is a good sign.
The Patrick Payne-trained mare by Zoustar has an edge with winning form at the track and money has come for her throughout the week.
We expect her to be fighting out the finish in an even betting field.
Race 7. (15:30) Perricootaevents BM64 (1200m)
#3 – Real Gun @ $6 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Real Gun is getting close to posting a win after finishing second at Bendigo last time out.
The five-year-old son of Reward For Effort won his only start at Echuca and he’s a three-time winner at the distance, so the statistics read well.
Punters should take the value odds available.
Race 2. (12:50) The Zing on Prov & Country Maiden (1100m)
#9 – The Halo @ $3 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
The Halo looked much better when running third at Newcastle last start and that form stacks up nicely.
She wasn’t too far away in her first two starts and it’s only a matter of time before she breaks through for her maiden victory.
We are happy with the odds available and having Hugh Bowman in the saddle is a bonus.
Race 3. (13:25) Finger Lickin Good Maiden (1000m)
#3 – Shirshov @ $2.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Punters should be confident with Shirshov, who owns three placings from six career starts.
James Cummings-trained runners don’t stay in maiden grades for long and we expect him to get the job done.
His last-start placing at Hawkesbury is a good betting guide and drawing barrier three should see him land in a good position.
Race 6. (15:15) Colonel Sanders BM68 (1100m)
#2 – Tuscon Valley @ $2.05 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Tuscon Valley is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Wellington and Armidale.
The four-year-old daughter of Swiss Ace owns four wins over the sprinting distance and all of her winning form has come in wet conditions.
Getting the inside draw with 1.5kg coming off her back could be enough to see her win again.
Race 8. (16:25) Wyong’s Next Race BM64 (1350m)
#9 – Mobstar @ $3.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Mobstar won on debut at Muswellbrook and his form since has been good enough to recommend.
The three-year-old gelding by Shalaa comes off a heavy track placing at Scone and there is nothing wrong with that fresh up effort.
1.5kg comes off his back and he’s a three-year-old with potential.
