Toowoomba horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (14:55) Audi Centre Toowoomba Maiden (1625m)
#2 – Love Rush – Bet Now
Love Rush has yet to win from eight starts but he produced his best effort when running second at Sunshine Coast last start.
The five-year-old was a $25 chance and made up significant ground in the straight to push the winner to a 2.8-length margin.
Punters should be getting decent odds in the opener.
Race 2. (15:32) Weston Kitchens & Bathroom Maiden (1100m)
#2 – Command’n’conquer – Bet Now
The three-year-old gelding is on debut and he looked good when scoring a trial win on this track. He showed a good turn-of-foot to win and it should hold him in good stead for this race.
Drawing barrier 11 could make it tough to win but he should give punters a good sight.
Race 3. (14:07) TAB BM70 (2150m)
#5 – Scottish Lad – Bet Now
Looking to bounce back after running seventh last start, the four-year-old’s best form would take it close. The son of Rothesay was a winner earlier this campaign at Warwick and he followed that up with a placing at Toowoomba.
He’s a three-time winner from 22 starts and although rising in grade for this race, this field isn’t anything special.
Getting the inside draw with only 54kg on its back is ideal.
Race 4. (16:47) Furney’s C3 Handicap (1300m)
#7 – Genoa – Bet Now
The four-year-old is coming off a win at Gold Coast and the form out of that race should hold nicely at this level. He scored by a nose as a double-figure runner in the market and his odds should be much shorter for this race.
The son of Eurozone has been in the money in seven of his 14 starts and with a light weight on his back, he should be competitive in this grade.
It’s his first start on the track and it shouldn’t worry him in the slightest.
Race 5. (17:27) Barrier Reef Pools Handicap (1300m)
#7 – We Built This City – Bet Now
The seven-year-old could rock and roll this Wednesday after running well in two starts this preparation. He’s a son of Jet Spur that was only three lengths behind the winner last start in what was a tough race.
Dropping down to 54kg is ideal after carrying 57kg last start and this race is no harder for the five-time winner.
Punters should get good odds.
Race 6. (18:07) K&R Plumbing Supplies C6 (1625m)
#6 – Higher Love – Bet Now
Higher Love is a five-year-old gelding that has won four of his 13 starts, which is a solid clip. The son of Love Conquers All is looking to go back-to-back after winning on this track last start.
It was his third win from seven starts at Toowoomba and he’s a real horses-for-courses type. He rises steeply in class for this race but he does drop in weight and Dale Smith takes over the riding duties.
He looks like a good each-way chance.
Race 7. (18:40) Neil Mansell Transport Handicap (1000m)
#9 – Hezhome – Bet Now
Three-year-old gelding Hezhome is dropping back in class after running ninth at Ipswich last August. He hasn’t been seen since, but he looked good winning three of his five prior starts.
The son of Better Than Ready is a two-time winner fresh up and despite being off the scene for five months, he could return in fine order.
He gets 54kg on his back and every chance to win.
Race 8. (19:10) Vanderfield Hino R65 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Make a Ruler – Bet Now
Make a Ruler is a five-time winner and 10-time placegetter that hasn’t been far away from the money of late. He ran fourth on this track last start and he should appreciate the drop in class.
Justin Huxtable takes over the riding duties and that could make the difference in the run to the line.
Each-way odds should be available.
