Tuesday horse racing tips

Newcastle

Race 1. (12:45) Prime7 C1 Handicap (2300m)

#4 – Maia Nebula @ $3.20 – Bet Now

Maia Nebula failed to make an impression in the Adrian Knox last start, but this is a massive drop in class.

The James Cummings-trained filly was no match for Colette, which then went on to win the Oaks on Saturday. However, her form prior was solid and she’s good enough to win at this level.

Punters have been cautious but good odds are on offer.

Race 2. (13:20) Suez Maiden Plate (1300m)

#7 – Princess Ariana @ $3.90 – Bet Now

We have backed $1.45 favourite Dreaming of Gold in every run this season, but a horse that runs second consistently finds a way to lose.

Therefore, we’re going with a value runner in Princess Ariana. The four-year-old mare finished third at Wyong last start and she’s still improving.

Drawing the inside is ideal and we’re confident of her chances.

Race 4. (14:35) Sage Painting Maiden Handicap (1500m)

#3 – Liam’s the Boss @ $2.45 – Bet Now

He has yet to win a race from eight attempts, but Liam’s the Boss has plenty of upside. The three-year-old drops in grade after contesting open grade at The Valley last start.

He finished last but his form in New South Wales is better, which includes a placing on this track in February.

Dropping back in distance should suit.

Race 5. (15:10) Advanced Pest Control C2 (1600m)

#1 – Pride of Adelaide @ $2.15 – Bet Now

Pride of Adelaide is the class runner and we’re expecting him to bounce back after a bad run at Rosehill.

He was well-backed to win the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes, but he went too hard in front and had nothing left to offer in the straight.

It came behind Derby winner Quick Thinker and dropping back to midweek grade is ideal. We thought he would be around $1.60, so take the value offered.

Race 6. (15:50) Rarity Wholesale C2 Handicap (1200m)

#1– Mo’s Crown @ $2.15 – Bet Now

Mo’s Crown is another runner dropping back in grade after contesting races at Randwick and Rosehill.

The Jason Coyle-trained gelding scored a win at Gosford before taking on stiff opposition in the city. Dropping back in grade is ideal and we should see immediate improvement.

Jockey Sam Clenton has been riding in good form and the $2.15 is a fair price.

Sale

Race 2. (14:00) Thank You Health Providers Maiden (1006m)

#1 – Ameliaranne @ $4.20 – Bet Now

Ameliaranne has had three starts for three placings and she’s capable of exiting maiden grades here.

The daughter of Sizzling went close when second at Pakenham last start. Another effort similar to that would see her taking out this race.

Punters are getting each-way odds and having Damien Oliver in the saddle helps.

Race 3. (14:30) Thank You Essential Services Maiden (1006m)

#8 – Resolute Lad @ $2.60 – Bet Now

Resolute Lad makes his debut and there has been plenty of backing. The son of Reliable Man was a $175,000 purchase and after he opened at $4.40, his odds have since dropped significantly.

It could be a sign of things to come and the Peter Gelagotis-trained runner could start even shorter in the market.

Race 4. (15:00) Stay Home if you Can Maiden (2226m)

#9 – Sign Seal Deliver @ $2.20 – Bet Now

It’s only a matter of time before Sign Deal Deliver wins a race and he went close at Echuca last start.

The well-bred son of Dundeel finished second and although he’s costing punters some money this season, he has the ability.

It’s another good ride for Damien Oliver and he could make the difference.

Race 5. (15:30) Social Distancing Please BM64 (1732m)

#5 – Sierra Sue @ $2.30 – Bet Now

Sierra Sue suffered her first career defeat after three runs last start, but she didn’t lose any admirers.

The three-year-old finished second at Sandown and she should find this slightly easier. Her first two starts resulted in wins and that’s a good form guide.

She should be able to use the inside draw to her advantage.
