Tuesday horse racing tips
Race 2. (13:30) Pipe Pro Drilling Maiden (1500m)
#8 – Diamondsandpearls @ $3.30 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Henry Dwyer-trained mare has been close to a maiden win, and she looks set to break through on Tuesday.
She finished third at Geelong two back before running second behind Paramedic at Mildura, which should prove to be a good form guide.
Barrier nine is tricky but the rise in distance suits.
Race 3. (14:00) Cervus Equipment Maiden (1200m)
#9 – Tramontana @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The three-year-old colt has been close to breaking through and he has more talent than most in this field.
He is a son of Toronado that scored consecutive second placings at Pakenham and Sale last preparation. His form since has been only fair, but that was a tidy maiden field at Geelong last start.
He’s running out of chances, so he gets one more.
Race 5. (15:00) Porter Plant BM58 (1000m)
#4 – Champs D’or @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Team McEvoy lines up the four-year-old mare that needed the fresh up run at Ballarat. She hasn’t run well her last couple, but she looked good winning at Kilmore three back.
The daughter of Deep Field gets every chance off an inside draw with a 1.5kg claim, so there will be no excuses this time.
It could pay to keep an eye on late betting markets.
Race 6. (15:30) Hygain Winners Choice BM70 (1500m)
#6 – My Boy Birmingham @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
My Boy Birmingham almost won at Ballarat last start and he’s capable of going one better here.
The four-year-old has already won two of his four starts to date, including a win at Ballarat two starts back by 2.3 lengths.
Barrier three is ideal and we’re expecting a big effort at short odds.
Race 1. (13:20) HRC Motel C1 Plate (2000m)
#3 – Fine Ruby @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Fine Ruby scored an overdue win at Hawkesbury last start and he’s capable of rising through the grades this season.
The son of Rubick burst through runners to win by 1.8 lengths, which suggests he’ll be ready to fire on Tuesday.
Barrier three is ideal and he has been backed from an opening quote of $4.
Race 2. (13:55) Tab Maiden (1000m)
#6 – Russian Standard @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Russian Standard didn’t fire at his first two starts before running third at Hawkesbury last time out.
The son of Capitalist was only a half-length behind the winner and this race isn’t any harder. He should go close again, and he has been heavily backed to win.
His opening odds of $4 didn’t last long, so get in before the $2.40 shortens.
Race 3. (14:35) Sky Racing Maiden Handicap (1500m)
#2 – Raging Bull @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The David Payne-trained gelding is getting close to a win after consecutive third placings to open his career.
He ran both placings at Randwick, including behind Cape Breton and Royalzel, with the latter scoring a win at Kembla Grange on Saturday.
It’s red-hot form for maiden racing, so punters should be confident.
Race 6. (16:25) Lander Toyota C1 Handicap (1400m)
#1 – Aeecee Express @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Aeecee Express is shooting for consecutive wins after scoring at Randwick, which should be an excellent form guide.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained son of Savabeel scored narrowly, and we’re not sure how the form stacks up from that race but having Tim Clark riding helps.
$3.40 is a fair price and punters should take the value.
