Tuesday horse racing tips

Mornington

Race 1. (13:30) Evergreen Turf Maiden (1600m)

#8 – Foxy Gal @ $2 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Foxy Gal looked good on debut when running second as a double-figure chance, so she will improve from that effort.

The three-year-old filly by Foxwedge has been heavily backed into $2, which is a good sign following a narrow debut defeat.

There isn’t much to this field and she could take advantage.

Race 3. (14:30) Catanach’s Jewellers Maiden (1200m)

#14 – Yonce @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Maher/Eustace-trained mare has been patiently handled as a four-year-old and the money has come.

The daughter of Proisir hasn’t had any public trials, but after opening at $3, she has firmed into $2.50 with bookmakers.

It’s a good sign for her debut effort and punters should be confident.

Race 6. (16:00) Polvin Fencing Straight BM58 (1600m)

#2 – Gateaux @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Looking to score back-to-back wins is Gateaux, who scored at Wangaratta by 1.8 lengths last time out.

The four-year-old daughter of Pierro didn’t show much in her first three starts, but she could kick on with it now.

Money is coming for her and she could start as favourite.

Race 8. (17:00) Rosebud Country Club BM58 (1000m)

#5 – Sniper Legend – $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

John Sadler lines up the three-year-old gelding who has finished in the first two home in all three career starts.

The son of Capitalist scored at Hawkesbury in heavy conditions two back before running second at Gosford in similar conditions.

The change in stable and drop in class should see him going close.

Orange

Race 2. (14:25) Allucrete Flooring C1 Handicap (1400m)

#2 – Cinque Torri @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Cinque Torri comes off a heavy track win at Nowra and he dug deep to get the job done.

The Bjorn Baker-trained son of I Am Invincible has been right around the mark throughout his career, and now that he has broken through, he could go on with it.

Most of the early money has come his way, so put him on top.

Race 3. (15:05) Epiroc Maiden (1400m)

#10 – Midnight Oasis @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Midnight Oasis has getting close to scoring a breakthrough win and she has found the right level of opposition on Tuesday.

The Matthew Smith-trained comes off a third placing at Newcastle behind Pentacost, which should be an excellent form guide.

She is a daughter of So You Think, so with five runs under her belt, it’s time for her to win.

Race 5. (16:15) Buckley’s Carpet Court BM58 (2100m)

#5 – Bandahara @ $16 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The son of Fastnet Rock only has two wins from 28 starts, but with nine placings on his record, we’re prepared to take the risk.

He hasn’t been running his best races lately, but he owns a placing at his only start at Orange, so he’s worth including.

2kg comes off his back and $16 is a generous price with bookmakers.

Race 6. (16:50) XXXX Gold BM74 (1400m)

#8 – Twice on Sunday @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Twice on Sunday finished eighth at Warwick Farm, which is a better form guide than most in this field.

The Baker-trained four-year-old owns two wins from 10 starts and one of those came at Kembla Grange earlier this season.

She carries 55kg and we’re not surprised by the early betting support.
