Tuesday horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:30) Bet365 3YO Maiden (1200m)
#4 – Hard Questions @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Hard Questions looked good in a recent jumpout and the early money has come for the three-year-old gelding.
The son of Contributer opened at $4.20 and has been the best-backed runner. He firmed into $3.40 before drifting to $3.60, which is still a big move.
The inside draw is ideal, so put him on top.
Race 4. (15:00) Hygain Maiden Plate (1600m)
#10 – Wheal Rose @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Wheal Rose hasn’t done much in two career starts, including a fifth at Sale last time out in July.
The Price/Kent-trained four-year-old has had time to mature and she was only 2.2 lengths behind the winner, which is a smart effort.
Her jumpout win is a good sign and she won’t have to do much work off the inside draw.
Race 5. (15:30) Margaret Anne Memorial BM58 (1600m)
#1 – Azoustic @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Searching for three consecutive wins is Azoustic, who scored both wins at Geelong last month.
The six-year-old has yet to race at Hamilton, but the son of Zoustar should enjoy the country racing conditions.
He carries a big weight, but he pushes forward and he should be tough to hold out.
Race 8. (17:00) Phillips Farm Machinery BM58 (1100m)
#3 – Enigma – $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Enigma is shooting for consecutive wins after winning by a length on this track last time out.
The five-year-old mare extended her career record to two wins and two second placings from seven starts, which is an impressive start.
Having winning experience at Hamilton is ideal and the 3kg claim helps her chances.
Race 2. (14:40) Maiden Plate (1310m)
#4 – Flashlin @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Flashlin is knocking on the door after three consecutive placings and punters get value odds on Tuesday.
The five-year-old son of Zoffany owns six placings overall, so she has been right around the mark without breaking through.
We’re happy with the odds available and they could firm on race day.
Race 3. (15:20) Maiden Handicap (1010m)
#5 – Rubick Sun @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Rubick Sun finished second on debut at Coonamble and she has since changed stables since the June run.
She was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner as a $6.50 chance, so we’re not surprised by the shorter odds available.
Punters should expect a similar effort and her odds are worth taking.
Race 4. (15:55) Maiden Handicap (1010m)
#2 – Rhythmic Song @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Knocking on the door of a win is Rhythmic Song, who comes off consecutive second placings at Dubbo.
The three-year-old son of Your Song was only a nose behind the winner last time out, so it’s only a matter of time before he exits maidens.
Barrier eight could be tricky, but he’s the best horse in the race.
Race 6. (17:10) BM65 (1610m)
#1 – Honeywine @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Honeywine has turned his form around nicely and the eight-year-old could keep it up on Tuesday.
The Lunn-trained runner scored at Dubbo two starts back by three lengths before running second at Tamworth last time out.
There is nothing wrong with that form and his experience could be enough to get the job done.
