Tuesday horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:30) Mercedez-Benz Ballarat Maiden (1000m)
#2 – Catadude @ $2.30 – Bet Now
The Matt Laurie-trained three-year-old has finished second at his first two starts and he could go one better here.
He is coming off a close finish on this track where he was a neck behind Mountain Ibis. The son of Sea Battle should be better for the run and we are not surprised to see a move in the market.
Expect more money to come on race day.
Race 2. (13:00) Hertz Maiden Plate (1200m)
#8 – Future Force @ $3.10 – Bet Now
Peter and Paul Snowden lines up the two-year-old filly that finished second on debut. That run came at Bendigo when placing behind Incredulous and that should be a good form guide.
After opening at $4.50, there has been steady money coming for Future Force. It is a good sign and having Dean Yendall in the saddle is ideal.
Race 5. (14:30) Porter Plant BM58 (1100m)
#2 – Marine Belle @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Marine Belle is the form runner of this race after posting consecutive victories at Echuca and Ballarat. Her most recent effort came over a length and it was an encouraging performance.
The daughter of Brazen Beau is heading in the right direction and we are surprised at the each-way odds on offer.
Punters could do a lot worse than $5.50.
Race 8. (16:00) Sportsbet Elite BM58 (1500m)
#8 – Sensitivity @ $3.60 – Bet Now
We couldn’t have been more impressed with Sensitivity’s win last time out. The Maher/Eustace-trained filly scored by four lengths in a dominant display and that win holds merit.
She is a past winner on this track and the daughter of I Am Invincible should be able to rise through the grades.
$3.60 is a good price and those odds should firm.
Race 9. (16:30) Hygain Winners Choice BM58 (1500m)
#1 – Smokin’ Romans @ $2.45 – Bet Now
The Maher/Eustace-trained gelding was a winner on debut at Ballarat and he could double down on that effort.
A son of Ghibellines, Smokin’ Romans scored by 3.8 lengths on debut and there is plenty to like about that showing.
Drawing barrier three will see him land in a good spot and this grade won’t hold him for long.
Race 1. (12:10) Aussie Night Markets Maiden (1900m)
#1 – Prince Six @ $3.20 – Bet Now
Prince Six has progressively improved from three outings and he looked good when finishing second at Newcastle.
The Mark Newnham-trained gelding was only 1.3 lengths behind Space is Deep and that is a good form guide for maiden grades.
He has good staying lines in his breeding and that should shine through here.
Race 2. (12:45) Eve Security Services Maiden (1000m)
#1 – Killin @ $2.10 – Bet Now
Killin hails from the Kris Lees stable and is getting close to a win. The three-year-old has finished second in five of his six career starts, so he has been frustrating for punters.
However, he meets an even field here and given that he handles all conditions, we’re expecting a winning performance.
Race 3. (13:20) Kentan Machinery Maiden (1100m)
#2 – Camerlengo @ $2 – Bet Now
The form of Camerlengo measures up beautifully for this race and we expected odds of $1.60. He is a two-year-old colt that ran second behind Sixgun at Canterbury on debut, which is great form.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained son of More Than Ready could have a nice future and dropping back to provincial level is ideal.
Race 7. (15:45) BJ Howes Metaland C2 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Spaceboy @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Spaceboy is the class runner of this field and despite the big weight, he should be tough to beat.
He is coming off a 4.8-length win at Wyong two weeks ago and he put a space in a talented field. It was a terrific performance and one that should give punters confidence.
$2.20 is a good price against a field of this nature.
