Tuesday horse racing tips
Race 2. (13:00) Harvey Norman Moe Maiden Plate (1211m)
#2 – Commodus @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Mark Sues lines up the three-year-old gelding that owns a run behind Alligator Blood. He finished 7.8 lengths behind the champion as a $301 chance, but the experience has done him so good.
He finished second at Cranbourne following that run and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks maiden grades.
Having Craig Newitt riding helps and he should go close.
Race 4. (14:00) Nextra Moe Maiden Plate (1619m)
#6 – Resolute Lad @ $1.95 – Bet Now
Resolute Lad was backed and beaten on debut, but he hasn’t done much wrong. The son of Reliable Man finished fifth on debut and then ran third last start.
He made good ground from midfield at Sandown and he should derive good benefit from that outing. He faces an easier field here and that bodes well.
Money has come since markets opened and that’s another good sign.
Race 5. (14:30) Moe Parklands Motel BM64 (1011m)
#2 – Young Liam @ $2.45 – Bet Now
Form is with Young Liam which has scored consecutive wins. The three-year-old gelding scored both wins at Cranbourne and he led throughout on both occasions.
The well-bred son of Exceed and Excel won by 3.5 lengths last month and he rose in grade and gripped on nicely last start.
He could make it three wins on the bounce.
Race 8. (16:00) Ladbrokes Switch C1 Handicap (1619m)
#2 – Vantastic @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Four-year-old Vantastic scored nicely two back and although beaten last start, he wasn’t far away.
The Mike Moroney-trained son of Animal Kingdom won by 1.5 lengths in heavy conditions. He then ran on the synthetic last start and was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner.
Being back on the grass helps and he’s going to get every chance in the run from barrier three.
Race 1. (12:50) I98fm C2 Handicap (1000m)
#7 – Hyannis Port @ $3 – Bet Now
Gerald Ryan lines up the talented filly that broke maiden grades at Gosford last December. It was a good display and her subsequent run behind Acumen at Wyong was solid.
Her best form has come at the trials where she has won twice at Rosehill. Her most recent trial was a third placing and that should top her off nicely.
Drawing the inside is ideal and money should come for her.
Race 3. (14:05) Wiseman Insurance Maiden (1400m)
#1 – Black Bolt @ $5 – Bet Now
Black Bolt has the experience of running at Kembla Grange and that’s why he’s goes above other runners here.
The Maher/Eustace-trained colt ran second on this track on debut and it bodes well for another good run. He was only a half-length behind Macleay, which bodes well for this race.
$5 is a good price from bookmakers and it should be snapped up.
Race 5. (15:20) Hillcross Supernova Woonana C1 (1200m)
#1 – Pioneer @ $1.85 – Bet Now
Pioneer runs at short odds but punters could throw him into multi bets. The five-year-old is coming off a fourth placing at this track and he meets easier opposition.
He has finished in the money in seven of his nine starts to date and that consistency is tough to overlook here.
After opening at $2.90, strong money has come throughout the week and that’s a positive sign going forward.
Race 6. (15:55) Tc Air & Electric Conditioning BM70 (1200m)
#1 – Nindamos @ $3.30 – Bet Now
Nindamos is coming off a tidy effort for second at Canterbury and that form should hold up strongly here.
The four-year-old ran a half-length behind Mansa Musa and it was a good performance to open his new campaign.
The three-time winner owns two wins at Kembla Grange and he could improve on that record this Tuesday.
$3.30 is a fair price and we’re expecting it to drop.
