We have expert betting tips for the cards this Tuesday at Hamilton and Newcastle.
Punters are getting good value throughout the card on Tuesday and we have our best value bets.
Conditions at both meetings are on the wet side, but that always sparks some value results.
Tuesday horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:00) Trotters Coaches Maiden Plate (2200m)
#3 – Magicain @ $1.85 – Bet Now
Aaron Purcell lines up the four-year-old gelding that looked much better when placing second last time out.
The gelding by Americain is bred to enjoy the distance and the conditions, which is why he’s the odds-on favourite to score.
Craig Newitt is riding well since returning from Tasmania and he partners the improving type.
Race 2. (13:30) Tac Be Races Ready Maiden (1600m)
#10 – Soleil de Lune @ $2.80 – Bet Now
Soleil de Lune is a runner that should break maiden grades very soon. The Maher/Eustace-trained gelding ran second at Donald last start and that indicated his ability.
He’s a son of Puissance de Lune, so he’s always going to improve with time and he has already matured nicely.
He doesn’t have to beat much here and the odds offered are still value.
Race 5. (15:00) bet365 C1 Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Rome @ $2.65 – Bet Now
Rome came to Victoria with handy Sydney form and it showed up immediately on this track. The Purcell-trained gelding won at an odds-on quote at Hamilton last time out.
It was a nice effort considering it was his first run in Victoria and for this stable. Drawing the rails should give him every chance in the run and punters are getting solid odds.
We’re expecting solid money to come throughout the week.
Race 6. (15:30) bet365 BM58 (1400m)
#3 – Task and Purpose @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Matt Laurie lines up the four-year-old mare which went close at her Victorian debut. The daughter of Zoustar ran a long neck behind the winner at Donald, so there’s plenty to like.
Her form in Sydney included two wins and five placings from 17 starts, so she clearly has enough ability to win at this level.
She could start as the odds on favourite if current betting trends continue.
Race 1. (12:45) NBN News C1 Handicap (1895m)
#6 – Soul Purpose @ $3.10 – Bet Now
Soul Purpose scored a breakthrough maiden win at Hawkesbury and she looks good enough to kick on with it.
The progeny of Pierro are running well this season, especially over the longer distances. Her last-start win came over 1800m and she flashed home late.
With a light weight on her back, we’re surprised with the betting drift.
Race 2. (13:20) Sage Painting C1 Handicap (1500m)
#1 – Faretti @ $1.80 – Bet Now
Faretti should have too much class for this field and the odds reflect that. The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding ran third at Warwick Farm last start and that’s good form for Newcastle.
The son of I Am Invincible scored his maiden win at Randwick and that’s always going to bode well in this class.
$1.80 is a fair price and he should remain steady in the betting.
Race 3. (13:55) Hunter Valley Premier Meats Maiden (1500m)
#8 – Rules Don’t Apply @ $3.30 – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the filly that has shown plenty of promise throughout her career. The daughter of Dissident ran second behind Hostage of War last start and has been primed with a trial win.
She is facing runners that have had a better preparation this season but she has more upside than most.
It could pay to watch for any late betting moves.
Race 5. (15:10) Westfield Kotara Maiden (1300m)
#1 – Brook Hill @ $2.65 – Bet Now
Brook Hill is a three-year-old gelding that ran third on debut at Newcastle. Having that race experience on this track is ideal and we’re confident he can improve.
Bjorn Baker is going sweetly this season and his run could continue with Brook Hill. He’s paying respectable odds and he should go close.
