Tuesday horse racing tips

Race 1. (13:30) Carlton Draught Maiden (1100m)

#6 – Lily Allez @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Lily Allez owns two placings from three starts and she looked good in her Australian debut at Ballarat.

The four-year-old finished second behind For Real Life by a nose, which followed a disappointing run at Te Aroha in New Zealand.

She doesn’t look far from a win and the early betting support is a good sign.

Race 3. (14:30) Programmed Maiden (1300m)

#8 – Redline @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Redline comes off consecutive placings and the four-year-old looks like a good bet in this contest.

The Maher/Eustace-trained son of Teofilo comes off a second placing at Geelong and punters should be confident in his chances.

Having a strong rider in John Allen helps, so put him on top.

Race 6. (16:00) Ararat Farm Supplies BM58 (1600m)

#2 – Ferlaxing @ $2.35 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Ferlaxing didn’t fire at Sandown last start but the four-year-old gelding is better suited to this level of racing.

The son of Ferlax looked better when running second at Swan Hill two back when hitting the line hard, so a repeat of that effort takes him close.

His opening odds of $2.50 have firmed into $2.35, so there is solid money coming.

Race 8. (17:00) Ords Motorcycles BM58 (1100m)

#10 – Mortal Witness – $2.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Mortal Witness has been around the mark in all six runs to date, including a win and two placings.

The three-year-old filly won second-up last preparation and with a run under her belt, she should be ready to show her best.

She was only a nose behind the winner at Kyneton, so we’re not surprised by the money coming for her.

Race 2. (13:50) Buy Your Quast Turkey Handicap (1600m)

#3 – Beckford @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Most of the early money is for Beckford, who is better than he looked at Rosehill last time out.

The four-year-old son of Not a Single Doubt is a five-time winner from 18 starts and he was outclassed at Rosehill last start, which was a tough field.

Dropping in class is ideal and he could have an immediate impact.

Race 4. (15:05) Cannon Cohen & Associates Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Fanz @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Fanz produced a quality effort when second at Quirindi last start and a repeat could be on the cards.

The four-year-old son of Sepoy was a short margin behind the winner and that form bodes well against this field.

Punters get odds worth taking and we wouldn’t be leaving him off our ticket.

Race 5. (15:40) Sampson’s Car Repairs Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Invincible Fire @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Cody Morgan-trained mare owns three third placings from seven starts and she’s not far off a win.

She finished third at Quirindi behind Fanz last start, so that form could be franked earlier in the day. It should be used as a form guide, and there have been big bets for Invincible Fire.

Barrier three is ideal and we’re confident.

Race 7. (16:50) Courthouse Hotel Tamworth BM58 (1400m)

#5 – The Borough @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Borough didn’t show his best form last season, but with a recent trial win under his belt, he should be ready to go.

He runs good races on the track with three starts for a win and two placings. He has needed a few runs under his belt in the past, but it’s not a strong field.

Punters get each-way odds worth taking.
