Tuesday horse racing tips

Hawkesbury

Race 1. (13:20) HRC Motel C1 Handicap (1500m)

#4 – Oh Golly Gosh @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old mare owns a win and a placing on this track, including a 2.5-length victory last time out.

She is a daughter of Artie Schiller, who showed a nice turn-of-foot to score last start. It appears as though she will rise through the grades without much trouble.

Barrier four is ideal, so put her on top.

Race 2. (13:55) Ladies Day BM64 (1100m)

#1 – Little River @ $3.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Little River showed form in Queensland before switching stables. The Joe Pride-trained runner owns a win and two placings from three starts, which is a good record.

She finished a nose behind the winner in open company last start, and that bodes well for this level of racing.

Drawing the inside barrier only helps her chances.

Race 4. (15:10) Sky Racing Maiden (1100m)

#7 – Deep Romance @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Deep Romance ran fourth on debut at Hawkesbury where she was only 1.6 lengths behind the winner.

The daughter of Deep Field showed good ability at the trials, and having Tim Clark in the saddle doesn’t do her chances any harm.

It could pay to watch for any late betting moves.

Race 5. (15:45) XXXX Gold C1 Handicap (1300m)

#6 – Midori Beauty @ $2 – Bet @ Sportsbet

We’re happy to take the $2 available for Midori Beauty, who flashed home late to score at Gosford on debut.

The Bjorn Baker-trained gelding had shown good ability at the trials, including a win at Warwick Farm. He showed that ability on race day, and we think he can win again.

The $2 could firm on race day.

Swan Hill

Race 1. (13:30) Bet365 Top Tote Plus Maiden (1200m)

#10 – Miss Cheviots @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Miss Cheviots owns two placings from four starts, and although fourth last start, she was only a length behind the winner.

The three-year-old daughter of Street Boss finished fourth at Flemington last season, and she followed it up with a placing at Warracknabeal.

The talent is there, so stick with her.

Race 3. (14:30) Ultima Hotel Maiden (1600m)

#9 – My Brilliant Choix @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

It’s time for My Brilliant Choix to break through. The four-year-old mare owns five placings from nine starts, and she has been threatening to win for some time.

She ran second behind The Amazonian last time out, which should be a good form guide for this level of racing.

Drawing barrier two is ideal, so we’re confident.

Race 6. (16:00) Busbiz BM58 (2400m)

#5 – Northanna @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Northanna scored well four back at Tatura before running consecutive placings at Coleraine and Mildura.

The five-year-old daughter of Helmet wasn’t all that far away at Horsham last start, and with five placings from 11 starts on this track, she is due.

We’re not surprised by the money coming for her.

Race 7. (16:30) The Bottle O Swan Hill BM58 (1600m)

#4 – Miss Tenthousand @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Maher/Eustace-trained mare has finished in the first three in five of her six career starts.

She won at Ballarat three back by 2.3 lengths before finishing third at Bendigo. Her most recent effort wasn’t flash, but she is much better than that.

Punters get value odds and they’re worth taking.
