Tuncurry racing tips
—
Race 1. (13:50) Forster Bowling Club Maiden (1000m)
#2 – Launch Sequence @ $2.30
Launch Sequence should find this easier than recent racing in Victoria, including a fifth last time out at Geelong.
The four-year-old owns two placings from six starts and changing stables could be enough to see his form take a turn for the better.
Getting 1.5kg off his back is enough to take him close.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (14:25) KBI Kitchens BM58 (1000m)
#2 – Cool Shalaa @ $3.20
Cool Shalaa has made a good start to her career with three wins from six starts, including a win at Ballina fresh up.
The four-year-old didn’t fire last time out at Wyong, but that was a completely different field to what she faces on Monday.
Getting weight off her back is ideal and she doesn’t need to improve much to beat this field.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 3. (15:00) Bellevue Hotel Golden Mile BM82 (1600m)
#1 – Adois Steve @ $5.50
Adios Steve is better than what his recent form suggests, so we’re going to stick with him at the each-way odds.
The seven-year-old son of Night of Thunder doesn’t mind the sting out of the ground and getting the inside draw is ideal.
He hit the line well enough last start at Wyong to suggest a good run is coming.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (15:35) Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club Maiden (1600m)
#12 – Finca @ $1.50
Short odds are available with Finca, who ran fourth on debut at Scone before placing at Port Macquarie last time out.
The three-year-old filly by So You Think ran behind Aroha Stone, who has since run nicely, so the form checks out at this level.
Carrying 55.5kg should make her awfully tough to beat.
Stake: 5 Units
Race 5. (16:10) Southern Sons Skip Bins BM58 (2100m)
#3 – Stylebender @ $3.80
Stylebender is only a two-time winner, but one of those wins came last time out at Tamworth.
The seven-year-old scored by 1.5 lengths as a $1.14 favourite, and punters get much better odds this time around.
His stats over the distance read well and we’re happy to include him in picks.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (16:50) Evermore Retirement BM58 (1200m)
#8 – Lights of Paradise @ $2.15
Lights of Paradise is one of the more exciting runners at the meeting and she could resume from a spell with a win.
The four-year-old mare by I Am Invincible won at Scone on debut before placing at Scone and running fourth at Wyong.
The form checks out and getting the inside draw adds to her appeal.
Stake: 5 Units
Race 7. (17:30) South Pacific Palms Motel Maiden (1300m)
#9 – Missile Charm @ $4.60
Missile Charm will need luck from a wide draw, but she looks well-placed after running third on debut at Port Macquarie.
The three-year-old daughter of Smart Missile got too far back before hitting the line impressively, which is a good form guide.
Take the each-way odds available from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
