Warrnambool Racing Tips for Tuesday, May 5th 2026

We have expert betting tips for racing at Warrnambool on Tuesday, which includes 10 races at the quality meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Victorian meeting, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Race 1. (11:20) Tab Maiden Hurdle (3200m)

#5 – Ongatiti @ $2.45

Ongatiti looked good when winning at Ballarat fresh up before placing at his first time over hurdles.

The Ciaron Maher-trained gelding posted two wins and three placings on the flat, so he should have enough pace on the flat parts of the circuit.

We expect him to fight out the finish, as the odds suggest.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (12:00) Vale David Clements & Rob Wood Maiden Hurdle (3200m)

#1 – Andy Win @ $4.00

Looking to cap off consecutive placings is Andy Win, who ran third at Hamilton before finishing second at Terang last start.

The five-year-old son of Almanzor has since had a trial placing to prepare for this race, and it shouldn’t take him long to win over the jumps.

Include him in picks at each-way odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (12:40) Billy The Butcher Malady Maiden Hurdle (3200m)

#1 – Ardakan @ $2.10

Ardakan ran well in his first hurdle start with a placing at Terang, and that form should stack up nicely.

The Maher-trained seven-year-old doesn’t mind the sting out of the surface, so the conditions should be right up his alley.

Money has come for him, so take the $2.10 before it shortens.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (13:15) Cally Hotel Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Positive Image @ $9.00

We’re betting on Positive Image to go one better than his last-start second placing at Stawell.

The three-year-old son of Yes Yes Yes had good betting support when running just behind the winner, and his fitness levels are higher now.

He is worth including in horse racing bets at the generous odds.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (13:45) Callaghan Motors Vobis Gold Strike (1000m)

#10 – Unkechaug @ $3.50

It’s rare to see a $300,000 purchase making its debut at Warrnambool on a Tuesday, but she could make her connections some money back.

The Robbie Griffiths-trained filly comes off a fourth at the Sandown trials, and this isn’t an overly deep maiden field.

She gets the inside draw, and she has been heavily backed.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (14:20) 3YB FM Scotty Stewart Brierly Steeplechase (3450m)

#1 – Stern Idol @ $2.00

Stern Idol is all class with 15 wins from 28 jumping starts, and he showcased his ability with a massive last start win.

The Maher-trained gelding won by 25 lengths last time out at Terang, which is why he’s the $2.00 favourite to win the feature.

It could pay to take the odds before money comes for him.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 7. (14:55) Carlton Draught BM70 (2350m)

#11 – Tsitsipas @ $9.00

Punters get value odds for Tsitsipas, who could serve it up to them on Tuesday.

The Busuttin/Young-trained four-year-old won at Mornington earlier this preparation before placing at Pakenham two back.

We’re happy to include him in picks with Nash Rawiller riding.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 8. (15:30) Wheelie Waste BM66 (1200m)

#11 – Arlington Row @ $7.00

Looking to get back to winning form is Arlington Row, who had awful luck in the straight at Mornington last time out.

The three-year-old filly by Kingman showed good speed to win at Cranbourne in consecutive races, and something close to that form is all she needs.

2kg comes off her back to help with the weight.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 9. (16:00) Book Jericho Thru Langley’s Handicap (1700m)

#8 – Bullet’s High @ $12.00

Bullet’s High hasn’t been too far away from the mark this preparation, and he’s going under the radar at double-figure odds.

The five-year-old son of Ace High owns four wins and seven placings from 21 starts, and if he gets some luck, he should be in the finish.

Having Dean Yendall riding adds to his appeal.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 10. (16:30) Carter Group National BM66 (1700m)

#7 – Rasp @ $6.50

Boasting two wins from three starts this preparation is Rasp, who scored both wins at Pakenham.

The four-year-old son of Street Boss has experience at Warrnambool with one placing from two starts, which is solid enough form.

The odds are better than expected, so include in picks.

Stake: 1 Unit
