We have expert betting tips for the card this Wednesday at Warrnambool that features nine quality betting races.
It’s the second and final day of the condensed Warrnambool carnival. We have our best value bets for every race on the card.
Warrnambool horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:00) Tab Handicap (1100m)
#6 – Icantoo – Bet Now
Icantoo makes her debut and she’s bred to handle any sting out of the track. The daughter of Per Incanto was an expensive sales purchase from New Zealand and she looks capable of winning this race.
Betting will be a good guide but the booking of Craig Williams is a good early sign. She has upside and could make a winning start to her career.
Race 2. (12:30) M.M. National Sale BM70 (1200m)
#7 – Street Tough – Bet Now
Street Tough is looking to improve on a recent fourth at Geelong and the former Tasmanian has the potential to win.
The five-year-old by Tough Speed owns four wins and four placings from just 12 starts, so it’s a respectable record.
Drawing the inside barrier should help his chances.
Race 3. (13:00) Callahan Motors Gold Strike (1000m)
#8 – Queen Zyrah – Bet Now
Symon Wilde has a great record at this carnival and he lines up the debutante. The filly by Written Tycoon is bred for speed and she could show that on debut.
She gets the inside draw to jump from and with experienced jockey Brad Rawiller in the saddle, we’re expecting a top effort.
Watch the market for any strong betting moves.
Race 4. (13:35) Sinclair Wilson BM70 (1400m)
#11 – Wheal Grace – Bet Now
It was an impressive win from Wheal Grace last start and she could stay in form now. The Paul Preusker-trained mare scored an all-the-way win and she never gave them a look in.
She now has three wins to her name and she’s unbeaten from two starts on a soft surface. Conditions are going to suit on Wednesday so stick with her.
Race 5. (14:10) Silvan Ridge BM70 (1400m)
#1 – Golden Gorge – Bet Now
The Robert Hickmott-trained three-year-old is coming off a tidy win at Sandown and he’s likely to kick on with it.
He scored a tough win from in front when holding off the fast-finishing Ocular. It’s form that should hold up nicely this season and he has a nice future.
He’s by Mossman, which means he handles the wet ground and having Craig Williams in the saddle strengthens his chances.
Race 6. (14:45) Evergreen Turf N Wilson BM70 (1700m)
#4 – Quality Approach – Bet Now
Quality Approach is coming off a win at Terang and although he paid $26 to win, he should be shorter in the betting for this race.
The Mitchell Freedman-trained gelding did his prior racing in Sydney and he’s a four-time winner from only 11 starts. It’s a good record and his form typically improves with fitness.
Punters could get each-way odds once again.
Race 7. (15:20) Midfield Group Wangoom Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Order of Command @ $3.50 – Bet Now
Order of Command loves wet tracks and he’s also a three-time winner with a run under his belt. His fresh up run resulted in a win at Caulfield and he won’t find this any harder.
He does rise in weight but he maps perfectly for this and Damien Oliver should get him into a nice spot in the running. From there, he should be able to let down with a big burst of speed.
Race 8. (15:55) Sungold Milk Warrnambool Cup (2350m)
#8 – Too Close The Sun @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Too Close The Sun is searching for his third consecutive win after posting victories at Moonee Valley and Terang.
The four-year-old is a former Perth runner that has adjusted to life in Victoria very well. As well as his wins, he scored a third placing at Flemington and it’s good form for this race.
Money is coming for him and we’re not surprised.
Race 9. (16:30) Cally Hotel BM78 (2350m)
#7 – Anna Mae – Bet Now
Anna Mae has won twice this campaign and she could add a third win to her record. The four-year-old mare scored by a length at Bendigo last start and she could kick on with it.
Getting the inside draw is ideal and she enjoys the wetter conditions, so conditions should be ideal on Wednesday.
