We have expert betting tips for the card this Wednesday at Warwick Farm that features eight quality betting races.
The tracks are still heavy in Sydney but it hasn’t affected the quality of the racing. We have our best value bets available.
Warwick Farm horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:45) Ranvet Maiden Plate (1100m)
#6 – King of Naples @ $2.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
King of Naples has been confidently backed after opening at $2.90 and that comes after a trial win at Warwick Farm.
The two-year-old son of Your Song handled the heavy track well with a 1.8-length win and the early signs are positive.
James McDonald rides and we’re confident.
Race 2. (14:20) Tab Maiden Plate (1300m)
#9 – Headliner @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Headliner is a runner worth following until she scores a breakthrough win. The Chris Waller-trained filly went close at Canterbury last start, which is a good sign.
She was only a length behind the winner and she hit the line well enough to suggest her maiden win isn’t far away.
It’s another good ride for McDonald and she’ll get her chance in this race.
Race 3. (14:55) I Am Invincible Yarraman Maiden (1100m)
#11 – Deep Romance @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Deep Romance ended her first campaign with back-to-back second placings and she could kick off with a win.
The Matthew Dunn-trained three-year-old wasn’t far behind the winner at Canterbury in heavy conditions and she has been primed with a trial placing.
Punters are getting odds worth taking and we expect them to firm.
Race 4. (15:30) The Macarthur Club BM78 (2400m)
#1 – Our Candidate @ $8.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The Kris Lees-trained seven-year-old is getting close to a win after running fifth at Toowoomba behind Stardome.
It’s a good form for the son of Camelot, who is also helped by the 2kg claimer, bringing his weight down to 61.5kg.
The $8.50 is well worth taking.
Race 5. (16:05) The Agency BM72 (1400m)
#7 – Straight Arron @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters always have to respect an unbeaten Waller-trained runner, so we’re putting Straight Arron on top.
The well-bred son of Fastnet Rock won at Sandown by just under a length and the switch to Sydney racing is a good sign.
Getting the inside draw helps and McDonald picks up the ride.
Race 6. (16:40) Vinery Yearlings BM78 (1600m)
#4 – Diamil @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Diamil ran well for second at his Australian debut at Canterbury and there is plenty to like about that form.
The former Irish runner scored a win and three second placings from six starts in Ireland, so he has good credentials.
Having McDonald in the saddle helps and the Kiwi jockey could have a big day out on Wednesday.
Race 7. (17:15) Frosted @ Darley BM78 (1000m)
#5 – Sky Command @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sky Command was a winner earlier this preparation at Canterbury and a similar effort takes her close.
The three-year-old filly owns three wins and two placings from eight starts and she comes off a run behind Mazu.
That form has since been franked at a high level, so there is no reason to drop the $6 chance at midweek level.
Race 8. (17:50) Hyland Race Colours BM72 (1200m)
#5 – Derbari @ $26 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Derbari faces a tough field and bookmakers have big odds available, but he shouldn’t be overlooked.
The Joe Pride-trained five-year-old owns two placings at Warwick Farm and his best form comes on heavy surfaces.
We’ll happily take the odds available for a runner with upset credentials.
