Warwick Farm horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (12:50) Vinery Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Greater Harlem @ $3.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Greater Harlem finished second behind Overpass on debut, which has subsequently won a tough race on Saturday.
The Chris Waller-trained colt was only 1.3 lengths behind the winner and we’re surprised bookmakers haven’t opened him as favourite.
He opened at $4.40 and money has come, but punters still get value odds and they’re worth taking.
Race 2. (13:25) Darley 2021 Roster BM68 (1300m)
#3 – Rubamos @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
This ownership group is having an excellent season and Rubamos could score his second win from four starts.
He is a son of I Am Invincible that scored by three lengths on this track to break maidens and that was an outstanding effort.
His subsequent run was a second placing behind Much Much Better and there is nothing wrong with that form. Having James McDonald in the saddle helps and punters get value odds.
Race 3. (14:00) The Agency Real Estate BM72 (2400m)
#5 – Akatino @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Akatino didn’t fire at Kembla Grange last start but the four-year-old should appreciate the rise in distance to 2400m.
He is a son of Sidestep that ran third at Newcastle two back and a similar effort would take him close against this level of opposition.
$7 is a value price and having Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle should give him every chance to show his best.
Race 4. (14:35) Ranvet BM72 (1000m)
#6 – Sixgun @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sixgun has faced tough opposition throughout his career and the three-year-old should find this easier.
The Mark Newnham-trained son of Snitzel finished fifth behind Wild Ruler last start and that’s Group 1-level form.
His two trials since have been good, which includes a win at Randwick in heavy conditions. We’re not surprised by the odds and he could shorten throughout the week.
Race 5. (15:10) XXXX BM72 (1600m)
#3 – Gemmahra @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Most of the money has come for Gemmahra, which scored a win fresh up before struggling in open company at Randwick.
The five-year-old daughter of Choisir got back to her best form when second at Canterbury and she handles all track conditions.
Barrier 12 is the only negative but she gets a 3kg claimer in the saddle and that could make all the difference.
Race 6. (15:45) Robrick Lodge BM72 (1100m)
#3 – Tiny @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tiny doesn’t get many favours with the wide barrier draw, but the three-year-old filly is more than capable of winning.
The James Cummings-trained daughter of Lonhro scored a fresh up win last preparation before running behind the likes of Japery in Melbourne.
She’s classy at best and despite drifting in the betting after opening at $5.50, she is well worth following.
Race 7. (16:20) Tab BM72 (1400m)
#4 – Adelaide’s Light @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
We have been impressed with Adelaide’s Light form this preparation, which included a 1.3-length win at Newcastle last start.
He is a rising son of Adelaide that will go on to win races over longer distances and staying at 1400m should be suitable.
Barrier 17 shouldn’t worry him too much as he drops back and shows a mighty turn-of-foot in the straight. Expect similar tactics this time around.
