Race 1. (12:50) Tab Rewards Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Antonio Padre – Bet Now
Comes into this race after a desperately unlucky run for fourth last start. The Chris Waller-trained colt had no luck in the straight at Hawkesbury and there were some smart ones in that race.
The son of Hinchinbrook has experience on this track when running third in April and if Tommy Berry gets him into clear air in the straight, we’re expecting a big performance.
He is facing race winners so punters should get nice enough odds.
Race 2. (13:25) Ranvet Salkavite BM66 (1300m)
#6 – Smart Horse – Bet Now
Very tough field and there’s many different form lines but Smart Horse could offer some value.
The Brent Stanley-trained three-year-old was a decisive 5.3-length winner on debut at Kyneton before running 13th at Bendigo. He didn’t get all favours on that occasion and that came against some smart types.
He likes to use the rail and drawing the inside barrier is ideal.
Race 3. (14:00) Star Turn @ Vinery BM68 (1600m)
#1 – Fun Fact – Bet Now
Form doesn’t read well this campaign but he’s better than advertised. The three-year-old gelding prior to this campaign was a three-time winner from 11 starts and he drops nicely in grade for this.
His most recent run came at Randwick in BM78 grade and he contested consecutive Group 3 races prior to that.
He’ll enjoy this level of racing and the inside draw won’t hurt.
Race 4. (14:35) ANZ Bloodstock News BM70 (2200m)
#4 – Angel Of Heaven – Bet Now
The Kris Lees-trained three-year-old has won three of her five starts to date and has made a nice beginning to her career.
She’s a well-bred daughter of Redoute’s Choice x. Lights Of Heaven and she’s doing her mum proud at the moment.
Angel Of Heaven did enough at Newcastle last start when winning by a half-length and we’re expecting that form to hold up nicely for this.
Race 5. (15:10) The Agency Real Estate BM70 (1200m)
#1 – Aperitif – Bet Now
Chris Waller has reverted back to midweek grade for this filly, which has been taking on top company at age-group level.
The three-year-old ran at Group 3 level four starts back when placing at Caulfield and then she ran fourth at Flemington.
Her last two efforts have been poor but this is a massive drop back in class and she should take advantage of that with James McDonald in the saddle.
Race 6. (15:45) Winter Racing BM70 (1600m)
#9 – Evopex – Bet Now
The five-year-old gelding is yet to win this preparation but he could provide punters with good odds in this.
He’s a four-time winner from 17 starts who has had another eight placings and his last two starts have been close finishes.
He ran within a half-length of the winner at Wyong last time out and that form looks good for this. Nice chance at each-way odds.
Race 7. (16:20) Australian Turf Club BM70 (1400m)
#5 – Charretera – Bet Now
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained three-year-old was a last start winner at Randwick and that’s good form for midweek grade.
He’s a son of Epaulette, which has finished in the first two in four of his five starts and he’s a consistent type which possesses a turn-of-foot.
That’s typically needed to win races like this and we wouldn’t be leaving him out of calculations.
