It’s always tough to look past a Chris Waller-trained debutant with James McDonald in the saddle.

The well-bred colt by I Am Invincible hasn’t shown his best form at the trials, but that’s not too uncommon for Waller’s runners.

The two-year-old filly looked good when winning a trial at Caulfield and coming to Sydney is a good sign.

The daughter of St Mark’s Basilica opened at $7.50 before firming considerably in the market, and that’s always a good sign.

#6 – Against the Law @ $5.00

There isn’t much over this field, so we’re taking the each-way odds for Against the Law.

The five-year-old son of Lean Mean Machine owns two wins and three placings from 12 starts and getting barrier three helps.

There won’t be much between first and last, so he’s worth backing.

#13 – Superfabulistic @ $3.00

Looking to cap off three consecutive placings is Superfabulistic, who owns a win and three placings from five starts.

The four-year-old mare by Super Seth was only a half-length behind the winner last time out at Canterbury, which is a good form guide.

Getting in with 54kg should make her tough to beat.

Boasting two wins from four starts is Supermassive, who pulled out all the stops when winning at Canterbury last time out.

The three-year-old son of Snitzel paid $2 when scoring, so punters get better odds, and it’s not a massive rise in class.
