Sandown horse racing tips & form
—
Race 1. (13:00) Ladbrokes Owners Incentive Scheme Maiden (1400m)
#8 – Elba @ $2.30
Elba is knocking on the door after three consecutive placings to kick off her career.
The three-year-old filly by Fastnet Rock comes off a second placing at The Valley behind Mr Charismatic, which is ideal form.
Barrier three is ideal, so expect her to figure in the finish.
Race 2. (13:35) Ladbrokes Yard Comments C1 (1200m)
#6 – Sisterhood @ $2.90
Sisterhood looked good when winning two back Pakenham by 2.5 lengths, which is a quality performance.
She followed it up with a third placing at Sandown behind Caste, and that’s another excellent form guide.
Getting the inside draw is a bonus.
Race 3. (14:10) Ladbrokes Communities BM64 (1400m)
#1 – Serasana @ $5.50
The three-year-old filly didn’t fire at Caulfield last time out, but this is a much easier midweek field.
Serasana looked good earlier than that when winning at Sandown, which came by 3.3 lengths against open company.
She carries a big weight but she has class on her side.
Race 4. (14:45) Ladbrokes Racing Club BM70 (2100m)
#3 – One Last Kiss @ $4.40
One Last Kiss comes off a win at Ballarat by a nose, and she’s good enough to win again.
She owns two wins and four placings from 10 starts, and she won her only start over this distance, which is a key statistic.
We expect her to be fighting out the finish.
Race 5. (15:20) Tile Importer BM64 (1600m)
#4 – Tewkesbury @ $3.90
Tewkesbury is a model of consistency after six starts for a win and four placings.
The McEvoy-trained son of Sir Prancelot comes off a third placing at Ballarat behind One Last Kiss, which could be a good form guide.
We’re happy with the drifting odds from bookmakers.
Race 6. (15:55) Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives BM64 (1400m)
#8 – Plenty of Ammo @ $5
Plenty of Ammo didn’t show much on debut before winning impressively at Warrnambool last time out.
The in-form Symon Wilde stable lines up the five-year-old mare, who has taken her time to get to the races.
She also comes off a trial win at Colac, so we’re taking the each-way odds.
Race 7. (16:30) Ive BM64 (1300m)
#8 – She’s Notorious @ $4.80
Value is with She’s Notorious, who looked good when winning consecutive races last preparation.
The five-year-old mare by Street Boss comes off a second placing at Echuca behind Punch Lane, and she should be better with the run under her belt.
Take the each-way odds before they firm on race day.
Race 8. (17:05) Ladbroke It BM70 (1200m)
#7 – Mornington Glory @ $3.90
Mornington Glory showed a good turn-of-foot when winning at Geelong two back before placing at Flemington.
The five-year-old ran second behind Rey Magnerio, and we thought that run would be good enough to make him the favourite.
His form measures up well for this race.
