Race 1. (12:50) Cleanpeak Energy Maiden (1000m)

#5 – Rail Trail @ $1.90

Rail Trail is getting close to posting a win after finishing second at Scone last time out, which is a good form guide.

The three-year-old son of Alabama Express was only a nose behind the winner as an $11 chance, and we’re not surprised by the short odds here.

Include him in multis to start the day.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 2. (13:30) KFC Zinger Showcase BM66 (900m)

#6 – Too Darn Lovely @ $4.50

Too Darn Lovely is better than what she showed fresh up when running seventh at Newcastle, and she should get back to her best.

The three-year-old daughter of Too Darn Hot owns three wins from eight starts, so the ability is there, and she has loads of upside.

Expect her to settle midfield and come with a big late run.

Race 3. (14:05) Federal Hotel Maiden (1400m)

#5 – Jolly Good Fellow @ $2.00

Jolly Good Fellow should appreciate the drop in class after running at Rosehill and Canterbury most recently.

The three-year-old son of Zousain ran second at Rosehill behind Brigidine Girl last year, and he has been freshened with a trial showing at Rosehill.

$2 is getting short, but he has the most promise in this field.

Race 4. (14:40) Western Truck BM58 (1700m)

#2 – Laisvas @ $6.00

Laisvas comes off four consecutive wins, and although she has been facing moderate fields in the country, her confidence should be high.

The five-year-old has run well at Wellington in two attempts, including a win and a placing, so that bodes well.

She gets 1.5kg off her back and every chance to win.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (15:15) Wellington Soldiers Memorial Plate (1100m)

#6 – Wilbury @ $4.00

Wilbury is already a three-time winner this preparation, including last time out at Orange by a narrow margin.

The five-year-old son of Capitalist won his only start at Wellington, and he’s a four-time winner over the distance, so the stats read well.

The odds read well also, so include him at the each-way price.

Race 6. (15:55) Grand Hotel Wellington Showcase (1700m)

#5 – Don Pedro @ $4.60

Don Pedro looked good winning consecutive races earlier this preparation at Warwick Farm, which are good form guides for this race.

The five-year-old hasn’t been too far away when running fourth in consecutive runs since, and he should appreciate this field.

Barrier four is ideal, and the odds are worth taking.

Race 7. (16:30) Wellington Soldiers Wellington Boot (1100m)

#2 – Invincible Phantom @ $3.00

Invincible Phantom lost no admirers when finishing a close fourth on debut at Randwick, and that form bodes well at Wellington.

The two-year-old son of I Am Invincible had good betting support on that occasion, and he showed excellent barrier speed.

The Baker stable is firing, and the run could continue this Sunday.

Race 8. (17:05) LSS Locksmith & Security C1 (1100m)

#4 – Nor Nor West @ $12.00

Nor Nor West scored nicely at Mudgee two back before finishing fourth at Tamworth, which is solid enough form.

The son of Territories will need luck after drawing barrier 19, but he is armed with good barrier speed, and he could attempt to lead.

It’s a risk but he’s worth including at the odds.
