Wodonga racing tips
—
Race 1. (12:55) CB Debt Consultancy Maiden (1200m)
#2 – Glove Artist @ $4.50
Glove Artist is on debut for Danny O’Brien, and there has been solid betting support for the favourite.
The three-year-old colt by Trapeze Artist ran fourth in a trial at Geelong, and he’s also had four jumpouts, so he’s fit and ready to fire.
It’s not an easy maiden field, but punters get each-way odds.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 2. (13:30) Mortgage Finance Solutions Maiden (1200m)
#4 – Coffin Dodger @ $2.30
Coffin Dodger was scratched last Tuesday, and punters could get paid off for their patience.
The four-year-old gelding by Sidestep owns two second placings from three starts, and it’s only a matter of time before he breaks maidens.
He comes off a trial win at Cranbourne, so he’s ready to go.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 3. (14:00) Leneva Park Thoroughbreds Maiden (1200m)
#4 – Laminar @ $8.00
Laminar is better for the fresh up run at Wangaratta, where he finished solidly enough for fifth.
The four-year-old son of Headwater only owns one second placing from six career starts, but this isn’t a deep field, and he gets all favours off the inside draw.
Punters get generous odds from bookmakers, so take the value on an each-way basis.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 4. (14:30) Wiesners Maiden (1400m)
#10 – Perfectly Good @ $2.35
Perfectly Good hasn’t quite lived up to his name yet, but we’re prepared to give him another chance as the favourite.
The three-year-old son of Super Seth ran fourth at Flemington fresh up before running fifth at Sandown, and dropping to midweek company at Wodonga will help.
He should take advantage of the much easier field.
Stake: 4.5 Units
Race 5. (15:00) Gj Gardner Homes Maiden (1590m)
#7 – Triumphant Tonic @ $4.20
Triumphant Tonic looks to cap off consecutive second placings, having placed at Wangaratta and Gundagai.
The son of Almanzor hit the line with power after getting a touch too far back at Gundagai, and rising from 1400m to 1590m is right up his alley.
We’re loving the each-way odds available.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (15:30) Bet365 Protest Promise BM64 (1590m)
#6 – Privacy Tour @ $3.60
Privacy Tour won well on debut at Benalla before placing in consecutive starts at Echuca and Benalla.
The Payne-trained four-year-old was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner last start, and dropping slightly in weight could make all the difference.
His odds are holding steady at $3.50, and he’s worth including in horse racing multis.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 7. (16:00) Naubro Kerb BM58 (2050m)
#5 – King’s Reign @ $11.00
Punters get value odds for King’s Reign, who turned his form around with a narrow win at Wangaratta.
The six-year-old gelding doesn’t win all that often, but he does some of his best racing at Wodonga with eight starts for a win and two placings.
Given the odds available, we’re putting a small wager on him.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 8. (16:30) Da Signs BM58 (1300m)
#10 – Zebedee Springs @ $11.00
Value is with Zebedee Springs, who owns a win and three placings from six starts throughout her career.
She won fresh up at Mildura before placing at Benalla, and there’s nothing wrong with that form going forward.
We priced her around $6.00, so getting double-figure odds is generous.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 9. (17:00) Fletchers Supplies BM58 (1100m)
#3 – Kingwell @ $5.00
Each-way value is with Kingwell, who we expect to run much better than what he showed fresh up at Wagga.
The five-year-old son of I Am Invincible looked good when winning at Geelong to break maidens, and something similar would be enough to win here.
Getting 3kg off his back adds to his appeal.
Stake: 3 Units
