Race 1. (12:45) Tab C2 Handicap (1000m)
#1 – Lashes @ $1.80 – Bet Now
Lashes is a quality three-year-old which has won twice already this campaign. She scored a quality win at Hawkesbury last time out when winning by two lengths and that shapes up well for this.
The daughter of I Am Invincible has won two of her five starts after taking on some tough fields throughout her career so far and most of the money has come for her.
She opened at $1.95 and has firmed since.
Race 2. (13:20) Polytrack Maiden Plate (1000m)
#6 – So Yummy @ $2.60 – Bet Now
Mark Newnham lines up the debutante, which scored a trial win at Warwick Farm two back and backed that up with a trial placing.
He’s an interestingly-bred son of Kuroshio and it’s good to see plenty of money coming for him throughout the week.
Tough field but he looks a top chance.
Race 3. (13:55) Go Electrical Tuggerah Maiden (1200m)
#5 – Arboreal @ $3.60 – Bet Now
James Cummings lines up the three-year-old filly which didn’t show much last campaign but expect improvement out of this stable.
The daughter of Lonhro was paying double-figure odds in both starts and is much shorter in the betting here, which is a good sign for this.
She showed plenty of speed when running fourth in a recent trial and it could pay to follow any more betting moves for this runner.
Race 4. (14:35) Blitz Homes Maiden (1600m)
#1 – Costas @ $2.10 – Bet Now
It never takes long for a Chris Waller-trained runner to break maiden grades and Costos looms as a top chance.
The three-year-old son of Tavistock is looking to back up a solid performance when running third at Hawkesbury last start and he has some good maiden-grade form.
Long overdue a winning turn and he will likely start as the odds-on favourite.
Race 5. (15:10) Russell May Memorial Maiden (1350m)
#2 – Dubai Harbour @ $1.75 – Bet Now
Punters will have to take the short odds on offer but the Waterhouse/Bott-trained runner looks to have speed.
The three-year-old gelding scored consecutive trial wins at Randwick before running fifth at Hawkesbury last start. He will only get better with more racing under the belt and this race is no harder.
Look for him to push forward from the barrier and take some running down.
Race 6. (15:45) Twin Lakes Air And Solar BM64 (1350m)
#7 – Showminder @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Ran fifth last time out at Gosford and he should improve nicely. His form prior included placings at Kembla Grange and Hawkesbury.
He scored consecutive wins at Bathurst last campaign, which included a five-length romp in August last year. Form similar to that takes him close here.
$2.20 is a touch on the short side but he should give punters a good sight.
Race 7. (16:20) Event Cinemas Provincial Cup C4 (1600m)
#5 – Evopex @ $4.20 – Bet Now
Evopex sprinted late to finish second at Port Macquarie last time out and that form should stack up nicely here.
The five-year-old has finished in the money in 12 of his 16 starts and that consistency rewards punters. It could be rewarded again here and bookmakers are offering nice odds.
He jumps from the inside draw which suits and we’re expecting his odds to shorten come race day.
Race 8. (16:55) Carlton Draught BM64 (2100m)
#4 – Diamond Star Halo @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Last start winner at Gosford by just under two lengths and that form should shine through here.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained runner will be looking to settle close to the pace and that’s not going to be hard from the inside draw.
She is a well-bred daughter by High Chaparral, which has only two wins from 14 starts but she has looked likely on many occasions.
Has the confidence up now and she should go close.
