MLB Betting Tips

Cleveland Indians vs. Detroit Tigers @ Comerica Park

Two undefeated pitchers go to battle on Sunday as the 10-9 Indians play the 9-7 Tigers.

Cleveland hasn’t started the season as well as they had hoped, but they still hold a winning record and send 3-0 Shane Bieber to the mound.

Bieber has picked up where he left off from last season. The talented right-hander has an ERA of 1.63 and he owns 43 strikeouts from only 27.2 innings pitched.

He is a strike pitcher for the Indians and when he comes off contract, he will likely get a big pay day from a team on the hunt for a starting pitcher.

Opposing him on Sunday is Spencer Turnbull, who is 2-0 on the season. Turnbull has yet to give up a home run from 18 innings and the Tigers are typically good defensively.

Both teams come into this game having lost their last two games. Bieber is the better pitcher but Detroit is hitting at a much better clip than the Indians.

We suggest taking the under, in what should be a low-scoring affair.

Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees @ Yankee Stadium

The Red Sox are trending in the opposite direction to the Yankees and they could struggle to win on Sunday.

Boston has lost four of their last five games to Toronto and Tampa Bay. They have given up 25 runs over their last three games and that should excite the hitting lineup of the Yankees.

New York is going well with a record of 12-6, which includes a home record of 6-1. After dropping consecutive games to Tampa Bay, they rebounded with back-to-back wins over Atlanta.

The Yankees have won all three meetings against Boston this season and they have outscored the Sox by 19-10.

The pitching matchup isn’t overly impressive, as both Nathan Eovaldi and James Paxton have given up plenty of hits this season.

Aaron Judge is doing his thing for the Yankees but their most impressive player has been DJ LeMahieu. He is hitting for a .431 average and getting him out is awfully tough.

Most of the Yankees hitting lineup is tough to get out, so Nathan Eovaldi could be in for a short outing on Sunday.

Stick with the team that is heading in the right direction.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Los Angeles Angels @ Angel Stadium

After starting the season looking like the World Series favourites, the LA Dodgers haven’t been overly impressive of late.

They have lost three of their last five games, including consecutive losses to the San Diego Padres. They scored only three runs during that two-game stretch, but they did bounce back with a 6-0 win earlier this week.

The Angels have the same record over their last five games, dropping three losses to the Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics.

Gaining traction has always been tough for the Angels, who have been underachieving for the last few years in the MLB.

Mike Trout is making his case for MVP after eight home runs and a batting average of .328, but the rest of his team doesn’t inspire much confidence.

As for the Dodgers’ MVP candidate and last season’s MVP winner, Mookie Betts, he has endured a rough start. Betts is only batting .279 and his slugging percentage is low.

He will improve with time, however, so punters should give Betts some wiggle room this season.

The Angels could be paying value odds with bookmakers and given the Dodgers recent form, they could be there for the beating.
