We have expert betting tips for three of the best MLB games this Tuesday, August 18.
The games that have captured our attention this Tuesday are the Cardinals vs. Cubs, Royals vs. Twins, and Athletics vs. Diamondbacks.
All three games present punters with excellent betting opportunities. Here are our MLB betting tips!
MLB Betting Tips
St Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs @ Wrigley Field
Having played only seven games this season due to a coronavirus outbreak, the Cardinals don’t have much form to go on.
However, they scored a 5-1 win in their return game against the Chicago White Sox and that should give the 4-3 side some momentum.
St Louis sends Kwang-Hyun Kim to the mound, who is 0-0 with an ERA of nine. He has pitched only one winning which resulted in two hits, so his ability is relatively unknown at this point.
The same can’t be said for Cubs’ strike pitcher Kyle Hendricks, who is 3-1 on the season with an ERA of 3.08.
Hendricks has given up only one home run and two walks from 26.1 innings, which is more than you could ask of your starting pitcher.
The Cubs have won three of their last four games, with the only loss coming by one run to the Milwaukee Brewers. Chicago is 8-2 at home on the season and we are expecting that form to continue.
Bookmakers will have the Cubs as favourites and they could get punters off to a good start on MLB Tuesday.

Kansas City Royals vs. Minnesota Twins @ Target Field
Kansas City doesn’t have an imposing record to start the season but they have played well recently.
The Royals are 8-12 on the season but with only one loss from their last five games, they are heading in the right direction.
Three of their last four wins have come against the Minnesota Twins, where they outscored the Twins 16-10 over those three games.
Those three losses for the Twins have been rare, as they have dropped only seven games on the season. Minnesota is 13-7, but they are 8-1 at home, so returning to Target Field could see the momentum swing.
In the Twins’ favour this Tuesday is the pitching for the Royals. The Twins haven’t decided on their pitcher yet but the Royals send out Kris Bubic, who has struggled to date.
Bubic is 0-2 with an ERA of 5.4 and he has given up 14 hits from only 15 innings. During that time, he has also given up four walks and three home runs.
For the Twins, their hitting power comes from Nelson Cruz. He has 20 RBI and an average of .342 this season, which is excellent for a designated hitter.
This should be a close game in betting markets but because of the home-ground advantage, we’re going with the Twins.

Oakland Athletics vs. Arizona Diamondbacks @ Chase Field
The Oakland Athletics bring their impressive 14-6 record into Arizona, who are starting to string wins together.
The Diamondbacks won consecutive games against the Rockies and Padres, outscoring their opponents by a whopping 18-8.
It was some much-needed confidence for the Diamondbacks, who are struggling to get back to .500, but a win against the Athletics would hold them in good stead.
Oakland is 14-6 on the season, despite a team batting average of .216. The difference has been their pitching, which has given up 51 less walks the Arizona.
The A’s send out Mike Fiers, who is 1-1 with an ERA of 6.86. He has been disappointing this season and giving up six home runs from only 19.2 innings isn’t ideal.
Arizona could capitalise on the weak starting pitcher and rack up their third consecutive win. However, that’s not the best betting proposition for this game.
Back the over with bookmakers, as both teams should score plenty of runs. The starting pitchers aren’t solid enough for this game, so we could see a 7-5 score line.
The line for the over isn’t out yet, but we would comfortably take anywhere around 9-10.
