MLB Betting Tips

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Washington Nationals @ Nationals Park

The Phillies and Nationals are slipping further behind the division leaders, so this game has great importance.

Philadelphia is 10-14 on the season after losing four of their last five games. However, they did come out ahead against Atlanta on Monday, so that should give them confidence.

They are currently four games back of Atlanta in the National League East standings, and one came behind Washington.

The Nationals haven’t made a good fist of their title defense, but there is still time. Injuries haven’t been kind to them and consistency has been hard to come by.

They have alternated wins and losses over the last week, which culminated with a 9-3 win over Miami.

There isn’t much difference in the pitching matchup, with Aaron Nola on the mound for the Phillies and Patrick Corbin for the Nationals.

Nola is a slightly better pitcher and for that reason, we’re going with the Phillies to win a close contest.

New York Yankees vs. Atlanta Braves @ Truist Park

The Yankees aren’t leading their division but most people believe they will come out on top in the American League East.

With a 16-9 record, the Yankees are one game back of Tampa Bay after going 0-3 in a recent series against their rivals. It was setback for New York, who were coming off a series win over the Boston Red Sox.

They were outscored 20-10 during the series with Tampa and they are not helped by injuries to Aaron Judge, DJ LeMahieu and Gleyber Torres. Without those star players, the Yankees are vulnerable.

Atlanta is a genuine World Series contender this season and they have made a good start to the season. Their 16-12 record is good enough to lead their division and recent form suggests they have a shot to beat the Yankees.

Max Fried has been their star pitcher this season and he takes the mound. Fried is 4-0 with a quality ERA of 1.32. He has given up 11 walks but he has yet to give up a home run.

Masa Tanaka is his opposing pitcher and although he has been great over the years, he can give up the long ball early in the game.

Atlanta is a value pick in this contest and we’re expecting Freddie Freeman to have a big game.

Minnesota Twins vs. Cleveland Indians @ Progressive Field

The American League Central division has been on fire this season, with three teams within two games of each other at the top.

Leaders of the division are the Minnesota Twins with a 19-10 record. They scored back-to-back wins against Kansas City to prepare for this series but they have a growing injured list that is worrying.

Looking to take advantage of that are the Cleveland Indians, who have a 17-11 record. They don’t have great hitting statistics but they have done enough to have a winning record.

The difference in this game could be the pitching duel between Jose Berrios and Adam Plutko. Berrios has given up 14 walks for the Twins this season and that is a high number from only 30 innings pitched.

Plutko has been the more solid pitcher and coupled with a home field advantage, the Indians could come out on top.

There won’t be much between them in the market and punters should get good value with the Indians.
