MLB Betting Tips

San Francisco Giants vs New York Mets @ Citi Field

The New York Mets had a great chance to beat the Giants on Thursday, but they didn’t take their chances.

They had the bases loaded with Pete Alonso on the mound, but he popped it up and the Giants came away with their 82nd win for the season.

The Giants are now three games clear of Los Angeles in the National League West, and they have also won four of the five games against New York.

New York won Game 3 of the series, but it has been one-way traffic otherwise. San Francisco scored an 8-0 win, which was followed by a tense 3-2 victory.

We like the Giants in this situation, especially with Alex Wood on the mound. Wood is 10-4 with an ERA of 4.11, which is much better than opposing pitcher Carlos Carrasco, who is 0-2 with an ERA of 8.82.

All the momentum is with the Giants, and despite playing on the road, they are 40-25 away from home, so that bodes well.

They are the favourites and we expect more money to come for them on game day.

New York Yankees vs Oakland Athletics @ Oakland Coliseum

The Yankees and A’s are second in their respective divisions, so this game has plenty of importance.

New York is riding a lengthy winning streak after beating Atlanta 5-4. They are now 74-52 after some shaky moments at the start of the season, but they have steadily closed on Tampa Bay’s 4.5 game lead in the American League East.

An increase in offence has been key for the Yankees, who are starting to hit much better. The same can’t be said for Oakland, who looked good at one stage, but it’s riding a losing streak.

The Athletics have lost four consecutive games, including a series sweep at the hands of the Seattle Mariners. It’s not a good sign for Oakland, especially with playoffs looming.

Getting back to winning form against teams like the Yankees isn’t easy. The Yankees send out the talented James Taillon, who is 8-4 on the season.

Taillon has a solid ERA and WHIP; not quite as good as James Kaprielian for the A’s, but he has pitched more innings than his counterpart.

Bookmakers have the Yankees at $1.79 on the road, which is a fair price. They would have been much shorter playing at home, but it’s worth the risk for the better odds.

Bet: New York Yankees to win @ $1.79Bet @ Sportsbet

Kansas City Royals vs Seattle Mariners @ T-Mobile Park

The winning streak of the Kansas City Royals came to an end with a 4-0 loss to Houston, but they’re an improved team over the last couple of months.

Despite being 16 games behind the Chicago White Sox, Kansas City is one of the better offensive teams going around. They have 1022 hits on the season, but the problem has been converting those hits into runs.

They have just 520 runs and 127 home runs, which ranks well below the Mariners, who have the worse batting average. If the Royals can hit with men on base, they wouldn’t be 56-70.

Seattle is 69-58 after beating Oakland in consecutive games. The Mariners are six games behind Houston, so they need to get a wriggle on.

With home field advantage, we expect Seattle to get the better of the Royals. They have a balanced lineup, and they are 37-25 at T-Mobile Park, which is good enough for us to pull the trigger.

Punters will have to take $1.57, but it should be a comfortable game to end the MLB multi.

Bet: Seattle Mariners to win @ $1.57Bet @ Sportsbet
