MLB Playoffs Betting Tips
Atlanta Braves vs Los Angeles Dodgers @ Dodger Stadium
The Braves have taken an unlikely 2-0 lead over the defending champions Los Angeles Dodgers.
Scoring two wins at home was a huge boost for the Braves, who won 18 games fewer than the Dodgers throughout the regular season. However, the playoffs are all about which teams turn up on the day.
On the mound for the Braves is Charlie Morton, who has been fantastic this season. He is 14-6 with a 3.34 ERA, which is up there with the best in the league. Morton pitched in their 5-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers, which was a clutch performance.
Opposing him on the mound is Walker Buehler, who has been even better. Buehler is 16-4 with an ERA of 2.47, and he has made serious claims to win the Cy Young award.
He’s the Dodgers’ best chance to win, because the bats haven’t come to play. The Dodgers scored just six runs in the first two games of the series. However, it’s not all bad news for Dodgers’ fans. They were only outscored 8-6, as both games were decided by one run.
Having a 58-23 record at home is a statistic punters could find tough to overlook. They are tough to beat at Dodgers Stadium, but they don’t play overly well as favourites.
Bookmakers have the Dodgers at $1.52 to win, and shortening. However, they are 85-80 as favourites, and Atlanta is 33-13 as an underdog.
There is value with the Braves, but we think the Dodgers pull one out. It should be a quality contest, and although the $1.52 is there to take, we’re going with the Dodgers –1.5 for a bit of value.
It pays $2.08, so it’s worth the risk.

Houston Astros vs Boston Red Sox @ Fenway Park
Boston took a 2-1 lead on a huge Game 2 performance on Tuesday. The Red Sox dominated the Astros from the outset, winning 12-3.
They scored six runs in the second inning and the game was out of hand for the Astros following that, despite scoring three desperate runs in the fourth inning.
When the Red Sox bats heat up, they can be tough to beat. That was evident in Game 2 and we’re expecting the bats to stay hot at home on Wednesday.
It’s a short turnaround for this game, so we would rather back the team that is riding the wave of momentum. Boston has everything going its way at the moment after winning the last two games, and it could go one step closer to securing the ALCS.
Pitchers haven’t been named at the time of writing, but we give the edge to Boston. We like their pitching lineup, despite some of the players not being household names. Houston would have to pitch well to keep them in the game, because the bats have cooled off.
Chris Sale could be the man for the job for the Red Sox. He pitched in Game 1 of the series, which was a 5-4 loss. He would love a chance at redemption.
The Red Sox are tough to beat at home in the playoffs, and that should be enough to get them over the line. We expected bookmakers to have them around the $1.70 mark, which is a price well worth locking in.
