Game 1 of the NBA Finals tips off this Friday as the Golden State Warriors take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in a best-of-seven game series.
It’s the finals series that many predicted coming into the season and it’s the fourth consecutive meeting between these two sides.
Golden State holds the 2-1 edge and they have been set at overwhelming low odds to win their third title in four years.
Bookmakers have the Warriors at $1.10 to win the NBA Championship – the lowest odds in modern history and they’re giving LeBron James and the Cavaliers no chance.
Game 1 will be important for both teams and the Cavaliers could steal home-court advantage, but do they have what it takes?

Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game tips
It wasn’t the typical road to the finals for either team but they both got the job done.
The Cavaliers have overcome an entirely changed roster throughout the season to make it to the finals, but LeBron James was the determining factor in all of their wins.
The best player in the game has been putting up impressive numbers and although he doesn’t do much on defence, he needs to put up 50 points in most games against the Warriors if they’re going to win.
James has no quality players on his team and although they are solid role players at times, they need to score at least 110 points every game to stay in touch of the Warriors.
The Warriors looked shaky in the early games during the Houston series and arguably they might not have made it through had Chris Paul played Game 7, but they came back from 11 points down at the half-time break to win.
What the last two games against the Rockets did was get the Warriors’ shooters into a rhythm. The likes of Steph Curry and Kevin Durant had been playing isolation, which isn’t a strength of the Warriors, but now the passes are sticking and the shots are going down.
Bookmakers have the Warriors as $1.11 chances to win Game 1 (BET NOW), which is longer than they are paying to win the series, but there’s little value in that market.
We have no doubt that the Warriors will open their account with a win, barring a 60-point game from LeBron, but even that might not be enough.
The current line is 12 and we think the Warriors are good enough to cover it. Expect Cleveland to hang around for a long time but the Warriors love to go late runs and they can quickly put a space on their opposition.
Warriors –12 ($1.95) looks the best play to kick off the series – BET NOW.
NBA Finals Game 1 First Basket tips
First Basket betting isn’t for everyone but it can be a quick way to make some money betting the NBA Finals.
It can all depend on which team wins the tip and we’re predicting Tristan Thompson to come away with the ball for the Cavaliers.
The ball will then be passed to LeBron James and he will be looking to be as aggressive as possible.
He’s the current $4.80 favourite (BET NOW) to score first and it’s not the worst option.
Our second tip is Klay Thompson for the Warriors. Thompson has been the most consistent shooter during the Conference Championships and he’ll be waiting on the wing for his shot.
We’re expecting the Warriors to want to get one half of the Splash Brothers engaged early and Thompson is a good chance at $5.65 – BET NOW.
