NBA Betting Tips

Brooklyn Nets vs Philadelphia 76ers @ Wells Fargo Center

The Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers battle for Eastern Conference supremacy on Thursday in what could be the game of the year.

Brooklyn has some of the most talented players in the NBA, including Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. Injuries have been worrying the Nets of late, but they are a deep team.

Philadelphia currently leads the conference with a 37-17 record. The 76ers have been reliant on Joel Embiid to do the bulk of the scoring and it’s not hard to see why.

Embiid is the premier center in the game and there is no one to guard him. He gets whatever shot he wants and the Nets aren’t the best defensive team going around.

With a home record of 20-5, Philadelphia could have the edge in this game. They head home after a four-game road trip where they defeated Dallas 113-95. It was a successful trip where they held opponents to totals of 96, 94, 93 and 95 points.

Philadelphia is stout on defense and that should be the difference on Thursday.

New York Knicks vs New Orleans Pelicans @ Smoothie King Center

The Knicks and Pelicans come off three consecutive wins, so one team will continue its winning run on Thursday.

New York battled well to beat the Lakers on Tuesday and it backed up wins over Memphis and Toronto last week. The Knicks are a team that could make moves in the Eastern Conference and beating the Pelicans is well within their reach.

New Orleans is also riding a three-game winning streak after getting the better of Philadelphia, Cleveland and Sacramento.

The Pelicans have coped well without Lonzo Ball and doing most of the damage is Zion Williamson, who is averaging 26.8 points per game. He is a beast in the paint and we don’t think the Knicks match up well.

We’re not expecting the winning margin to be big for either team, but the Pelicans have home court advantage. They are 16-13 at Smoothie King Center and that could be the determining factor.

Punters should get value odds for the Pelicans and New York doesn’t travel well, so add the Pels to your NBA Thursday selections.

Miami Heat vs Denver Nuggets @ Ball Arena

The Denver Nuggets come off consecutive losses to Boston and Golden State, so there is plenty to play for on Thursday.

Denver isn’t a team that loses consecutive games often and scoring only 87 points against Boston was a disaster. Jamal Murray also suffered a serious injury against Golden State, so their main ball handler is out for this game.

Miami could take advantage and it has hit form at the right time. After a slow start to the season, the Miami Heat are now 28-25 and making a run in the Eastern Conference.

They scored wins over the Lakers, Trail Blazers, and Warriors, which were all quality outings. Miami has a team capable of going all the way, much like last season.

Having Victor Oladipo off the court isn’t ideal, but this team works well without him and Jimmy Butler has steadily improved in 2021.

Bookmakers could have Denver as the slight favourites, but with Murray on the court, we’re going with the Heat.

Miami is more than capable of winning on the road and punters could get value odds.
